Gourmet Burger Bistro

I liked my food it was good to me .I shared it the second time first time it was separate orders.

Went 1/31 thought it was packed but no wait. Promptly seated. The server took our order and returned with our drinks. Ordered calamari it was warm not hot but the taste was good. Ordered house salads a couple of pieces of older looking lettuce. Mt friend asked for ranch and the server never came back with it. The entree came out and it was hot and good. The reason for did three stars was the server. She was spread too thin. We had to flag her down for refills. The ambience was a sports bar vibe.

Parking is a little tight in the parking lot. It's warm in the order taking area but the AC is great in the dinning area.My son had a burger with bbq sauce, onion ring and bacon and thought it was delicious. Sweet potato fries had cinnamon and powdered sugar. Just enough sweetness. I had a crab cake that came with a side of spicy sauce for the fries. They seemed to be fresh cut which I love. It took me a min to place the spice on them but I think we narrowed it down to a touch of bbq spice like you'd get on potato chips. This place made Yelps 2021 list of top 25 burgers on the US so I'd say it's a good place to go. The atmosphere looked like it might be a fun weekend night spot with a bar on the side room and a reserved area on a platform with a cool thrown like chair. I look forward to bringing my hubby on another visit.

Visited for the first time to experience their weekend brunch menu. Their catfish, grits, & wings are a must try! Flavor profile is so good & what made it a plus is that the fried foods that I ordered wasn't too greasy & you could tell the grease was new & clean. I'd drive from VB to visit this place again.

I was so excited to try this place because my favorite meal is a cheeseburger. I'm sorry to say the cheeseburger I found here was way over cooked and dry, dry, dry stick in your throat. I forgot to take a pic and I'm sorry for that. But it looked a 100 times better than it tasted. This was a huge disappointment. If you want an over cooked, well done hunk of ground beef you will love this place.

Let's get to it! This place has been on my list for a minute. I finally made time to go and took the girls with me (niece & daughter). There is a take out side and a sit down restaurant side. Service/Hospitality:These guys are super nice, friendly and easy going. Not uptight table service. They talk to you like they know you. Their recommendations are spot on with the wings. Location/Atmosphere:It was a lot smaller than what I envisioned, but was no wait to be seated. It's in a shopping center, with a DJ playing music outside. I drove here from the OV area, so it was a bit of a drive. In my mind the food would have to be good enough for me to return. Keep reading and I will let you know my decision. Appetizer:Fried wings (whole) Half lemon pepper, half sticky wings!:THE BEST MOST FLAVORFUL WINGS I'VE EVER HAD! These are whole wings, fried perfectly. Hot and fresh out of the fryer, not oily at all. Entree:2 French toast big breakfast:Your typical breakfast, except the French toast taste like an entire dessert. You don't need syrup for this French toast. It is perfectly good the way it is. Shrimp & grits w/ bacon & cheese: Missed the mark for me. I've been to many places in the area and have yet to have shrimp and grits that taste better than Cork & Company. Plus I wasn't a fan of the amount of oil sitting on the top. I also would have preferred if the grits had a stand alone flavor. They were bland. Drinks:Sweet Tea:Perfect 80/20:Delicious Yum yum alcohol drink:Please put this drink in a larger cup, or give the option. Final notes:Plasticware/ plastic cups/ but not disposable plates. Not that I would prefer plastic & paper plates, but "pick one". - Guess I'll be back for the wings.

My son chose Gourmet Burger for his birthday dinner and I was happy he did! Lol Four of us got four different burgers, Empire, P-Town, Major Way, and a Cheeseburger, three with fries and one with sweet potato fries. Everyone was happy - food was fresh and delicious! I also enjoyed my order of corn nuggets, too! Yum! Staff, on the phone and in person, were all friendly and very welcoming :0) Check them out!

Boyfriend and I were craving burgers so we decided to try this place after seeing the great reviews. As soon as we walked in, we saw the delicious looking desserts lining the counter and the gentleman didn't hesitate to greet us. We decided to dine in and was seated immediately. I tried the yum yum punch, which was smaller than I expected and strong, but not mixed well. My boyfriend got a Jameson and ginger ale and felt it was mixed better. I got the Smokie Jo and my boyfriend got the major way; we both got fries. The burger, in a good way, tasted like a burger you'd get at a family cookout. The fries were hand cut potatoes and could've used more seasoning but were perfectly cooked. We got peach cobbler to go. Their service is ehh. Our main waitress was on the phone the entire time and wasn't welcoming but the gentleman behind the bar was really nice. Overall: 8/10Peach Cobbler 5/10

I had the most delightful experience with my sister when we stumbled upon Gourmet Burger Bistro on our way home from volunteering. If there was a mascot for incredible hospitality, the young man running the front would be the perfect fit! As soon as we stepped inside, we were embraced with warm smiles and a genuine sense of belonging. Every question we had was met with honest guidance, and he had us giggling throughout our visit. Now, let's talk about the food! The burgers were out of this world, easily ranking as the best I've had in ages. And don't even get me started on the lemon cake--it was pure bliss. But the real showstopper was the fresh cookies, so heavenly that I couldn't resist pulling a sneaky move, making my sister momentarily distracted by the TV in their cozy sitting area, to sneak a piece of hers after mine was done. The bathrooms were clean and there is a reserved area that would be amazing for celebrations/birthday parties. Sundays they serve a brunch instead of their usual so I'd take that into consideration. I highly recommend this place, and we're already counting down the days until our next visit. Can't wait to be welcomed back into the Gourmet Burger Bistro family!

Gourmet Burger Bistro has THE best burgers in Hampton Roads. That's it, that's the review. Just kidding. :)The owner, Major, calls himself the Burger King, and it's a well-deserved title. With the location, it seems like your average burger joint, and it's anything but that. I tried the Major Way, which the menu describes as "a hand-pressed patty topped with American cheese, smoked pork bacon, grilled onions, finished with lettuce, tomato, and our house-made DRIP sauce." Basically, it's my dream burger. The meat was so perfectly cooked, the onions caramelized just right and I love a good sauce! Plus, on my first visit, Major gave me and my bestie some of his sticky wings on the house.
