The food was well prepared, large portion for sandwiches. They do not have a fryer so do not expect fries bar food. The ingredients are fresh and the staff is lovely. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend. Great for brunch, lunch or a night out. Club Sandwich Pickle Spear Macaroni Salad

Nice little sandwich shop/bar. Like your typical hole in the wall place, there wasn't many workers but the waitress/bartender was active and constantly on the move. She recommended adding bacon to my pulled chicken sandwich and boy was that the right choice! Delicious! It's house BBQ sauce too so quite different than other places that just use name brand stuff. Great experience and would love to come back.

A cool old school dive bar. With yummy food and quick and friendly service. And the sandwiches are massive!

Have been here dozen times and have never had any issues. Tonight one of the employees that was off duty started yelling at us telling the current bartender to kick us out. We were minding our business and then got confronted by another dude while we were not doing anything but talking amongst ourselves. We had to leave bcuz we felt completely unsafe being around the employees there. Will not be returning.

Racist bartender will quite literally find any reason to not serve a group of 20 something black people LOL. haven't been here in months and yet finds someway to be rude and refuse to serve before we can even order. Have no problem at any other bar in all of hampton but somehow some way always refused service at goodys every single time we walk in and i wonder why. Not to mention the last time we were here she continued to serve our drunk friend after we repeatedly asked her to cut him off, making her liable for anything that could've happened that night but she's only concerned for tips with terrible service.

My sandwich was delicious and huge! A typical dive bar at night/weekends. Happy hour wasn't necessarily "happy" as specials aren't really that good, but pours were pretty nice. Overall probably would not return, unless I was craving a delicious club :)

Excellent sandwiches! They always hit. That and the lead bartender(oldest) know what tunes to listen to on the pandora channel. From boars head roast beef sandwiches on sourdough to pastrami and Swiss do takeout or sit in. Best bar food. Put your money on it!

Yes, it's a dive bar, and as others have said, anything could happen. But my late afternoon experience (16:00-18:00 Friday) was good. My turkey Reuben was excellent and generous. Huge pickle spear (5" and a quarter of the pickle). Great potato salad (savory, not sweet). Bartender is friendly and recommended a lager on tap which was very nice.

Goody's has been an outstanding food staple in downtown Hampton for many years. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and get a Rueben with macaroni salad and a cold beer. My first stop every time I'm in Hampton.
