****this is for the Green Course***** I have no idea why anyone complains about this course, it was fun and challenging! It's a hard course yes.... You can only drive on the fairways but wow, the grass was picture perfect and the folks who work here are beyond amazing! Can't wait to play the golf course!

Green Course: we enjoyed our round out there. Pace of play was slow which led to a bit more waiting than we should have. Greens rolled well and challenged us all day. Bunkers were a bit soppy from the rain but the course handled it well everywhere else. Price is a bit steep for the quality. My cart was falling apart and no gps.

This is for the Green Course. What a cow pasture! Tee boxes bare, fairways soggy and missing lots of grass. Worst shape of any golf course I have ever played. Paid a ton to play in a tournament and the greens were said to have been aerated three weeks ago, they look like they were aerated last week with big holes. Bumpy and basically un-puttable. Wait 2 months. Aeration was done too early. Golf Now has cheaper rates, but has issues getting confirmations.

Absolutely a wonderful pair of golf courses, and the par 3 track is underrated. The main clubhouse is right in the middle of town and you will here some cannon fire from Colonial Williamsburg every now and then on the Gold and Spotswood Courses. The clubhouse is on the small side but has been updated recently. The Gold Course is the absolute gem, one of the best courses in Virginia. Tough off the tee but so much fun throughout. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and very recently renovated by Rees Jones. The par 3s really stand out, each one could easily be one of the best par 3s on any world class track, but I haven't experience a better set of par 3s in the world. My fifth favorite hole is the par 5 2nd. It can be a two shot hole, but water surrounds the green. And the view after you hit your drive is spectacular. Otherwise I think every hole is memorable and tough. It's definitely tight off the tee on the Gold Course. The renovation has really improved everything. I definitely understand some complaints, especially early in 2019 when the new turf had not settled and taken yet. But the greens and fairways were perfect and I played in late November. The course also drains pretty well too. The Green Course is a little underrated in my opinion. I played here several years ago and really enjoyed it. Solid course all around in good condition and a great driving range. It's also not as busy as the Gold Course so it was easy for me to get around for a couple of loops. The Spotswood Course is a small, par 3 track that is tough at times but a lot of fun. Usually it's included in any stay and play package.

Green course review. Soggy, soggy, and soggy. Aerated greens were inconsistent speeds and very bumpy but it had rained that morning so we agreed not to be too harsh on that part. But hitting shots from the fairways with slippery feet is hard to take. Hole after hole. Downhill, uphill, sideways, didn't matter. Soaking wet everywhere. Even in rough. Some pretty holes but mostly the holes seemed to blend together and we had a hard time remembering the course afterward. Very forgettable. Play Kiskiack. Shorter but exceeds it in every other area.

**This review is for the green course**I have attempted to come here 3 times to hit balls on the range, and it has been closed every time. Today, I made the drive out to practice after calling to make sure the range was in fact open. When i got there was I was told I could not use their range because I was not wearing a collared shirt. It was an hour before closing on a weekday - an absolutlly empty range. I've worn the same clothes on many golf courses ranges around Richmond with NO issue. Absurd they would turn away business when the course is absolutely empty. I will give it 1.5 stars because Jeff (the pro) seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Although, he has been the only person enjoyable to speak to at this course
