Gino's Pizzeria

My son and I were looking for Pizza while staying at a local hotel and found Gino's a short walk away. We ordered over the phone for pick up but decided to eat-in after we arrived. Gino's sits in historic old town Portsmouth and we could smell the delicious pizza as we walked up. The service was amazing and they went out of their way to make it an enjoyable diner for my son and I. My son enjoyed a cheese pizza and I ordered a meat lovers Stromboli. The portion sizes are HUGE! Enough to take home for the next day for sure. Gino's also has a very quaint bar that serves pizza by the slice!If you visit waterside Portsmouth you are missing out if you don't try Gino's!!!

Before I begin let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so with that being said let's begin!. I have been passing this place for a while now and I never stopped until today. It's not a very big place but big enough to hold some tables and a small bar area. When I seen the name Gino, the first thing that came to mind was NY style pizza and with a name like Gino that Italian name meant something to me. It made me feel like I was back in Brooklyn grabbing a slice of pizza from the pizzeria on the corner right next to the bodega!. Well fast forward this place is cool, it has a couple of gambling machines and I believe I seen an atm, but I wasn't too sure so don't quote me on it!. I ordered two slices of pepperoni that came with a can of soda or a bottle of water!. They have a special for two slices and a soda for $4.99 but I believe that is just plain cheese, I opted for pepperoni instead. The pizza came out fairly quick, it wasn't that hot the way I like it so I am wondering if it was sitting in the back waiting for someone to order it. The pizza or should I say the pepperoni had a nice flavor. The cheese was ok and overall the pizza was good. I have a few concerns.1. Growing up in Brooklyn you could see your pizza being made from the dough tossing and throwing the cheese and topping on it and then thrown right into the oven!. Maybe I am spoiled but that's what I'm accustomed to in a pizzeria or pizza shop!. At this pizza shop you have no idea how they are preparing your pizza. They just bring it out to you from the back!.2. When he brought my slices out they already put grated cheese on it, I love the stuff but they don't know that so why would you just take it upon yourself to sprinkle anything on my pizza without first asking?.So that's why I left off two stars because of those two concerns!. Would I return you ask, maybe if I am in the need of a quick couple of slices to go but I won't go out my way to return!..

This is a decent spot to grab some pizza for lunch. The interior is spacious, with a relaxed vibe, and they even have a small ATM machine and an outside eating option. The menu offers a variety of options, from classic pizzas to pasta dishes. However, be aware that they don't serve tap water--you'll need to purchase bottled water--and there's a surcharge for using a credit card. Additionally, the TVs were tuned to Fox News, which might not appeal to everyone.The medium pizza, impressive in size and packed with flavor, was a definite highlight of the meal. My little one enjoyed the kid's spaghetti, and I appreciated that they provided a high chair.That said, the restaurant lacked dedicated parking, and the staffing seemed insufficient to handle the lunchtime crowd efficiently. While the food was good, the overall environment left something to be desired. Due to these factors, I'm unlikely to return, despite the quality of the meal.

Gino's is always fast and friendly. I usually order pick up or delivery. I would eat there but there's no A/c on a hot summer day. The pizza is always perfect but this time I had the stuffed shells. They were delicious. Very cheesy and fresh. This is my go to takeout Italian. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Pizza, calzones, strombolis- awesome! We usually order and pick up, but have also had deliver. We tried so many pizza places in the area, but Gino's is the best !

Ordered 3 pizzas for a ladies night at A Touch of Glory Massage LLC around the corner. This restaurant was highly recommended by the spa owners! I ordered a Cheese 18in, Meat Lovers 18in and Veggie pizza 14in! Sooo good, and filling! All of the guest loved the pizza! The owner was really nice! It gives such an authentic family owned vibe. Would definitely order take out again, or take advantage of the outside seating during the evening!

This place is so weird. We walked in to 3 dudes just standing there staring at me and my husband. No greeting nothing. Had to walk all the way up to them to tell them we wanted to eat. Handed us our menus and we had to seat ourselves. He's in a T-Shirt.. jogger shorts and some slippers?? Felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable. Neeeeever again!!

1st stopped at High Street Pizza and Pour house, $$$$$$ for a small pizza. Walked out and found Gino's, this is what we wanted, a real pizza, not gourmet pizza. And half the price for 3 times the amount of pizza. If not looking for aesthetics, just good pizza, this is your place!!

I was a frequent customer but was rubbed the wrong way the last time i called to place an order. I was placing an order for me and my co-workers and when i asked for the total at the end he laughed and stated you're asking like you don't have any money. Mind you i called to place a delivery order which states on the menu it's a $5 charge for delivery orders, but when i stated one of the orders was for the $10 special of the day it no longer could be delivered even though more meals were being ordered. I stated i would pick the meal up instead and did not appreciate the remark that he made at the end about not having money.

I ordered a 14 inch cheese to go and decided to eat a slice before I left. The Jamaican dude told me I had to leave because I ordered to go and he wouldn't allow me to sit down and eat. The pizza was mid and he charged me extra for ranch and because I used a credit card .
