George Washington Inn & Conference Center

I stayed at this hotel for one night on a school trip and it was not as bad as the other reviews made it out to be. The rooms were clearly old but were clean enough to not be worried about bugs or any other very gross issues like scabies. The bathroom felt really sketchy and the hallways were really really hot. The room was also really hot at first but after turning the AC on in the room and sleeping at night- when I woke up the room was nice and cool. The TV was really nice actually and I had a fun time with my friends playing my Nintendo Switch on it. The beds were also pretty comfy but in my opinion the pillows were kinda meh. The elevator and stairs were very very sketchy though. It felt like a murder house or something. Plus the stairs reeked of mildew :(For the price- and seeing how close it is to Busch Gardens I would say the hotel is not that bad actually. Definitely not the best but if your tight on cash or if you have no other options it will be good. Though I do recommend bringing some slip on shoes to walk around the hotel in because the floor was kinda sticky...

HORRIBLE! The building is not heated. Freezing cold. They do not service the rooms. They give you an attitude when you call to ask for towels. First day, the water in the shower came out BLACK, before it cleared up. Second day, they just SHUT OFF THE WATER! No warning. They just turned off the water. I am taking a shower, and the water just cuts of. Had to go rent another room just to wash off the soap! Demanded a refund, since I had to leave and go rent another room. They simply IGNORED the request for a refund. So, basically, they just stole our money. DO NOT stay here! This place is RIDICULOUS. It should be condemned!

Do not recommend. Cracks in walls. Freezing cold. No hot water. Fridge nor microwave working. Stained sheets. Says year round pool but no pool when we arrived. Said it was seasonal. We tried to cancel before we got there because of reviews but the wouldn't give us a refund. Got there and we stayed one night and found something else. Could not take another night at the nightmare motel. Oh and not sure because Virginia may be different than NC but pretty sure the free breakfast wouldn't pass health department inspection. This place was one of the worst I've seen.

Yeah... Um... NoJust no!Room okay... Nice comfy bed, air conditioning worked.Everything else: Not great. I know they are renovating this place, but they have a long way to go. Air conditioning didn't work in the lobby and hallways. My mom was going to get breakfast, but decided not to. She said it was unbearable in the breakfast room. She also complained that the hotel didn't give us any information about amenities.

Certainly not a place I would go to ! It just seems very desperate place ! Close to Busch gardens but that's the only thing ! Elevator x 2 were down ! All I gotten was I apologize! Just not a good place ! Very run down! Travelocity was the booking. Not happy with the place ! Labor Day weekend! Waste of money!

This was a disgusting stay. My boyfriend and I were extremely tired from a day at Busch gardens and didn't want to drive all the way back home. We decided to stay at this hotel and we thought that since the price was okay, it didn't matter for one night. WRONG! I woke up COVERED head to toe in bed bug bites! All over my face and arms and legs! I'm disgusted at this place and will NEVER stay here again!!! Worth it to go get a place nicer and spend a little more!

I advise that if you are not desperate find another place to go. Customer service is not its priority. Not enough staff to accommodate room service or to stay at the front desk. Checking in, there were several customers that wanted refund. Desk services were on the phone with mgmt due to upset customers. Not an inviting, welcoming or friendly place. No phones in rooms and breakfast had no protein. No Ac in hallways and entrances are not card accessible or clean. There is no Restaurant or Bar, no trash cans available in public facilities and pool has plenty of insects swimming in it. You will get what you pay for. They do accept dogs and Charge $25 per dog and per night.

Four years later and we still can't get over our stay at the GWI! A cool mix of the Shining and Horror Hotel awaits you at this diamond int he rough. There might be love animals, or a ghost playing a piano. Or, wait ...are those mannequins in the windows?! Yessir, anything to complete this unique, and possibly, haunted adventureBedbugs!, Gamble and you might take a chance with these inquisitive creatures and possibly, make some new friends.Are you en electrician, or plumber! You can bring your tools and fix your own hotel room! At GWI, it's all about an immersive experience, what kind that may be is simply up to you

It was not even 1/2 stars. If you okay with showering with Mold and sleeping on an actual mattress with no slip cover then, this hotel is for you. The room and the hotel has a old smell about it. The whole hotel needs a major face lift. This is not the hotel to stay in. After a long day at Busch gardens you want to go back to the room and take a great shower and relax. This was not myself experience. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!! Judge for yourself

This is by far the trashiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Clumps of old pee all over toilet and door in the bathroom, the bathtub was full of pubic hairs, the ac didn't work, never got any clean towels or washcloths, never picked up our room or made the bed. And to top it off an older gentleman following me to the elavator asking where my room is and where I live !!
