Gail's Bait & Tackle

I don't get what everyone is saying about Gail (the lady at the counter). She was such a friendly lady with a pair of awesome dogs. I was visiting from California and came in with my 8 year old daughter. We fish every state we visit and usually ask the locals for pointers and buy some gear. She was quite knowledgeable about the local spots and went to the extent of showing us what setup to run. She could have sold us the most expensive stuff but didn't. Only sold us what we needed. Word to some, county folk are not ass kissers and really are some of the most friendly people. Thanks Gail. We will be sure to stop by next time we're in town.

This a hidden gem for sure. I got off work and was trying to find a bait shop to grab some things before we head out for a night of fishing.The lady at the counter, who must be Gail, was very pleasant. She isn't much of a talker, but she asked if I needed help & pointed me in the right direction. I'm not much of a talker either so I understand. The guy however, loves to talk. He will talk to you about fishing for as long as you want. They are both very nice. The shop has EVERYTHING you need. What an assortment of bait too! I look forward to coming back here! Not sure why the bad reviews honestly.

I recently got back into fishing, and like most, I stumbled across this place. I gotta say, I love it! The owner, she is very knowledgeable about fishing, she recommended my first lure and many other things there. She also always has cool conversation; she will give time to teaching you a few things about what to, and not to do in terms of regulations and what to get for which fish. Good selection of stuff and if you don't know what you caught, she will get the fishery guide and show you, but she mostly can tell off sight. All in all, great place that I will continue to support.

Nice little shop. Lots of fishing shooting stuff. Seems like they could expand to a larger place if they wanted to. The old man working there was extremely kind and helpful. I've read reviews speaking negatively about the owner, Gail. She was there but didn't really say much. The old man was a talker though and just seemed like a nice man. I will be back.

They have everything you will need. Including live bait. Everything I couldn't find at Walmart, I found here! Wil go here for all on my fish needs from now on!

I was looking for a bait and tackle store near me and Gail's came up on Yelp. They were opened during quarantine so it gave me something to do, go fishing! The lady, who I think is the owner is very nice and she told me some spots I can go fishing at and also helped me pick out what I should buy. This is my favorite bait and tackle store in this area. She has a huge selection of everything, including live bait, snack PLUS a huge selection of ammo.

Omg I'm amazed this place is still open. That lady is the meanest person I have ever encountered in my life. I got what I needed and got the hell out. Will never spend another penny there.

Well stocked store, very helpful folks. Wide variety of fresh and saltwater gear, rigs, rods, reels, etc. Fresh and frozen bait. As of July 2023, they were conveniently open seven days per week.

Gail's is a hometown bait & tackle run by hometown folks who've been fishing the area for years. Come here for gear but also come here just for the joy of meeting Gail and Buddy. Just get to know them and you'll be a regular like me. If you prefer clerks and sporting goods chains with no personality- there are plenty out there. Gail's is a jewel.

I just started fishing last week soo I'm new to it came here to grab a couple of things and ask some questions about fishing . I ask the lady at the front desk about one item in the store and she gave me a death stare and then just said it's for fishing I knew then either she is a racist or was not in the mood but she was racist because the next customer came in and she was just as nice to him and greeted him I got non of that . I had to ask the customer in the store questions because the lady at the front desk didn't want to really talk to me
