Frank's West Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria

Met a friend for dinner on a Tuesday night and so enjoyed our evening at Frank's!! The restaurant was very clean, which is just important to me. It's small and intimate, so we could talk and hear each other. It wasn't busy at all, with just a couple other tables and some pick up orders dropping in. Our server Christine was fabulous! She responded well when we told her we were going to be slow and were visiting while eating dinner. She checked in on us the right amount of times, offered suggestions (which were spot on) and kept our drinks full. She made us smile several times and I hope to see her again! The food was delicious. We started with the eggplant appetizer (recommended by Christine) and it was so good! Crispy on the outside and fresh on the inside with the right amount of sauce. The dinner salads were the right size and their house dressing (a balsamic vinaigrette) was divine. I wish I knew how to make that at home. Maybe I will ask next time! For dinner I wanted something lighter and no tomato sauce so opted for the Chicken d'oro (another suggestion when I asked about this or the piccata) and it was spot on. The right amount of lemon butter sauce over some super thin, breaded and sautéed chicken breasts. I ate them all!!! My friend thoroughly enjoyed the chicken parm and we both got spaghetti with our orders. For dessert I went with the tiramisu. It was different from what I normally get in that the lady fingers weren't totally covered in mascarpone, and I enjoyed this too!! I really look forward to returning and trying something else....hopefully to get Christine as our server again!

Very bland Penne ala Vodka. Calamari had no flavor. Got takeout. 2 people at the desk weren't the least bit friendly. Won't be back.

Been a customer for 20 years. Awesome Pizza and salads! In person dishes are great too but this is my families go to pizza place, the pizza crust is always perfect! Great consistent service and execution!

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore!! And what a big pizza pie this was! Dean would be pleased!! True to our word, we said we'd come back to try the pizza and the fettuccine. We ordered takeout due to Covid, our order was ready quickly and we picked it up curbside. The fettuccine Alfredo was a good sized portion, although it was a little dry; I would have liked some more sauce on the side. But it was certainly tasty! The pepperoni and sausage pizza was a huge hit! The plentiful toppings, loads of cheese, and Italian crust was delish! We also ordered the caprese salad, presented well and fresh, but no dressing was included, so we made our own. The bread that was included with our meal was crusty and yummy! We would for sure order take out from Frank's again! If I were you, I wouldn't pasta this place up!!

The food was good, the best was the dessert we ordered a pizza, calamari and a tiramisu. We like all that ee ordered and the service was also good it was busy night and they have a lot of orders to go.

Came in tonight alone. Wanted to check the place out, my friend has been talking about it awhile. Small place. Kind of looks like every Italian restraunt I've ever been to. Ordered a water, I am not sure but I think I choked on some dust in that water. Ordered a small pizza with subdries tomatoes and basil. The pizza came out like 15 mins later. The first bite was awesome. Cheesy and kind of crispy. After the pizza sat for like 1 whole minute it turned to card board. Pretty mediocre. Was surprised to see the bill though because what I was thinking was a 15$ dinner turned out to be a 17$ SMALL pizza. The toppings were $3 extra.. which I did not see on the menu... but $3??? That's insane. There were barely any sundries tomatoes on the pizza and the "fresh basil" was dry as hell. Also was charged 75¢ for a side of ranch. Thanks for telling me about that upcharge when I ordered it... not!!!!! I don't really want to come back here.

Grabbed a small pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza for take out. Tasted good, fresh with a crispy crust. Odd, only small and large pizzas available. I was done when they said it would be ready.

This is the ideal place to come when you have a hankering for a good pizza or other Italian comfort food but you don't want to sit in a brightly lit, linoleum lined pizza joint. The owner, Anthony, is from Palermo, and he is always supervising the smooth operation of this site down restaurant. Think of it as a pizza place for adults. The service was excellent . The pizza was very good, the Greek salad was very fresh, and I can't wait to try their other dishes.

Wonderful meat ravioli and is one of my favorite spots in that part of the West End. Ambiance is quiet enough to hear conversations and nice for a special occasion for up to 4.

Great neighborhood Italian food. Service is wonderful. Fast and efficient. Always on time.
