I come here for my weekly pizza or dinner run and I can say everything and anything good about this place. The owner and all the workers are amazing and nice. The area is always clean and they always offer if I need anything else. The price for their food is spot on! I would recommend this place over anywhere else every day!

I went by initial reviews, and I'm on a personal mission to find something close to my hometown pizza shop named Gino's. This pizza seemed promising until that first bite, and it was so salty that it had to be thrown out. They may have improved, as that was a year ago, but it made the list of "Never again".

As a native New Jerseyan and Chicagoan who has spent much time in both NYC and Connecticut, I know good pizza when I have it. And I know pizza hat's made by people who would like to pretend they are making the real thing, but in reality, it tastes as generic as your typical national chain delivery joint.Frank's knows what they're doing with making a great pie. I called ahead to eat in and the pizza was served to me maybe fie minutes after I sat down. The problem was they put pepperoni on the pizza instead of sausage, which is what I had actually ordered. They did apologize, and they immediately remade the pizza. The crust is quite thin, but still thick enough where you can get a nice chew on it, essential for any thin crust pizza. And I am a big fan of that thinly sliced Italian sausage, the kind that looks like shaved gyro meat. The tomatoes were sliced a little uneven, some thick, some thin. I wiped out 4 slices easily, it was a really good pizza. I do live in Newport News, but if I'm in the area, it's definitely worth stopping in to grab a pie.

Frank's Pizza 1 is a SoNo tradition that has been around for decades, four of them to be precise. This Italian restaurant is located in a depressed area of the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake in the rundown Southgate Plaza. The huge parking lot for the shopping center is usually pretty empty so parking will never be a problem though the lot is in pretty sad shape. Somehow in this less than favorable setting, Frank's Pizza 1 has thrived for many years and is a local favorite. They've been putting out some really delicious Italian food for the past 40 years.I've been to Frank's many times but in the last five or six years. I can't really explain why it had been so long but my wife and I were visiting a relative in the area and when the conversation turned to dinner I immediately thought of Frank's. I pulled up the Yelp app and called to place an order for a large (16 inch) Frank's Special Pizza. Ordering over the phone was quick and easy. I walked through the restaurant's front door about twenty minutes later and was greeted immediately. The place smelled amazing with all the wonderful Italian food aromas wafting around the room. My olfactory senses were titillated. I didn't have to wait long as they pulled my order out of the big pizza oven a few minutes later. My pizza was still fresh and hot when I got back to the house. The Frank's Special Pizza is topped with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. The topping portions were generous and when I took the first bite the combination of flavors formed a perfect symphony in my mouth. I loved everything about it. The slightly charred crust, the wonderful tomato sauce, all that gooey cheese and the amazing toppings. My wife and her sister had never had food from Frank's but they really enjoyed it so this definitely won't be their last time. I'm already looking forward to my next pizza. Frank's has a full range of Italian menu items and everything is really good but for me it's all about the pizza. If you dine in they offer beer and wine by the glass. This locally owned and operated business was established in 1980 and the fact that they have survived and even thrived in this location for so long is a testament to their ability to make amazing Italian food at reasonable prices. The employees are friendly and pleasant, they make you feel appreciated. I will be returning soon.

I have been a Frank's fan for years. I didn't know they had moved to the shopping center with food Lion. Now that I found them I'm back home. They have great Pizza, but their Stromboli is the best you can get In Hampton Roads. I would go there anytime to get it. The wait staff is courteous and are attentive to the needs of their customers. The place is clean and well kept, bright and welcoming. I highly recommend Frank's Pizza.

Portions are good. Priced are high. No low carb options. I would recommend a cauliflower crust option.

Great service, fantastic pizza in a comfortable, casual establishment. Highly recommend the garlic knots. Thin crust pizza was exactly what we were looking for. Will be back again soon!

Everything you order is short on something. We ordered the 16" Franks special pizza. We added extra cheese to 1/2. The other side had almost nothing on it. The pepperoni and sausage were scarce and sliced so thin you could see through it. One of us got the alfredo . The sauce was as thin as water and wouldn't stick to the fettuccini. Another got a sub, at the slice you could just barely see a profile of the meat and cheese. For a 12" sub, the bread outweighed the rest of the sandwich. Good Luck
