So I started attending fortis college in September of 2021 and will graduate September 2022. I attend the dental assistant program and has been the best decision the teachers are wonderful and will be there for anything you need. When it comes to them taking the time out of there day for one-on-one attention to help you better understand they are there for it all! The school on the other hand isn't. I was charged $300 on my FASFA for a laptop I didn't need I already had one. Since October of 2021 I have told them about it and nobody has help since. I told the president of the school and even the accreditation Board. The woman from the accreditation board made it seem like it wasn't a big deal and she would help but didn't care at all. As a student I haven't felt heard and felt like I wasn't taking seriously. Not only have I had problems with the school but more student in the program with me have. The staff changes so much because I everyone is always quitting. As I first started I was 3 months pregnant. As my due date became closer I was always asking how my classes where going to be effect with me being out 4 weeks. My director was always saying oh don't worry we'll handle it when the time is closer. When I had one month left, I was told if I take 4 weeks off for maternity leave my classes would be put on hold and I wouldn't graduate in September. I was back at school a week later after giving birth so keep that in mind before attending.

Attending Fortis college has been one of the best decisions I've made. The teacher's are highly knowledgeable and dedicated to their professions, and they care about the students. With hard work and dedication you will succeed at Fortis college. I landed a job as an orthodontic assistant soon after graduating. The teachers gave me a love for Dental so much, I decided to pursue my education a step further. I am now pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene at Old Dominion University. Thank you Fortis college and a very special thank you to Mrs. Freeman for unlocking my true potential.

Wonderful school with caring faculty and staff. It is a rigorous and challenging program, but the class sizes are small and the staff really help you to be successful. It is not easy but it is worth it!

Worst experience in my life. The teachers always change. They do not finish out the semester. We had them not show up to clinicals. They let people redo the test. Everyone was failing. They are not fully accredited. The board of nursing told me that they are not in good standing. The only reason they had good Nclex pass rates was because only a couple of people made it to test. Good luck finding a job if you finish their programs.

PN program was an overall good experience for me personally. The teachers and staff were hands-on and clinical site experience taught me real world skills needed. Going to Fortis was the best decision I made for my family and to further my career. It wasn't easy but the teachers are there to help you and will go above and beyond, if you're willing to help yourself!

I looked into fortis college to do the dental assisting program way in the beginning of 2015. After receiving only $1,500 in financial aid I decided to put it on hold for a few months so I could work and save some money up. Their program costs 20 THOUSAND DOLLARS and I do not know what its for!! At my financial aid appointment the counselors encouraged me to take out loans so I could pay my tuition and my costs so I could start in july. I told them repeatedly that I was going to wait awhile before going back to school so that way I could pay for it out of pocket. They continued to harass me by calling DAILY even after I told them to STOP CALLING ME. They emailed me TWICE A DAY about coming in to "set up a counseling session to see what my career goals are." Finally I had my husband call them and tell them to remove me from their system. I then blocked their number but I still got voicemails every single day about wanting to contact me. I just got an email again from a different counselor to come in and set up an interview for the program. THEY WILL NOT LEAVE ME ALONE. I have tried every respectful avenue to try to get them to stop because they are all money hungry (they get a portion of every students enrollment.) The only reason I am now reviewing the school is because I just got 2 new emails from separate counselors AGAIN. I am currently enrolled in Practical Dental Assisting of Virginia Beach which only cost 6 thousand and it is the same length of program and you come out with the same credentials. Beware of this school and please only contact them for information if you want to be harassed for months afterward.
