Stopped here on a trip to NC. Store was very nice, clean organized and the staff was friendly. They were well stocked and staff was wearing masks. I wasn't a fan of this chain but this store changed my mind. I would recommend

I gave this location two stars because although their prices are not great they are less expensive than our other local grocery store choices. As far as customer service goes, for the most part it is poor to non existent. I understand that there is a world wide shortage of employees but that excuse is not going to cut it as there were three standing in the middle of the produce section having a heated conversation with each other and plenty of employees through the store and a few at the open cash registers. The problem is the attitude and or possible lack of training in, for the most part, the seasonal employees. This was not a one time experience. I live here and I have shopped at this stores consistently since they first opened their doors. Many of the seasonal employees will barely acknowledge your existence as you step up to the register. I understand there may be a language barrier at times but anyone can be taught to smile and say hello. Groceries are packed with absolutely no care, usually so heavy you can barely lift the bag much less tote it up a flight of steps when you get it home. Three bags of sugar in one bag with a loaf of bread. The bread was not on the top and I could go on. Of course there was the one young lady who would ring up your groceries and immediately move on to the next customer with out offering to pack anything. Come on managers, you can do better than this.

Store is clean, has reasonable prices, and ample selection of the stuff we were looking for. Parking was easy even though we were there at peak tourist season. And while the store was busy, it did not seem over-crowded, and we encountered zero rude behavior from the employees. At least 4 stars...

My wife and I, in fact, my family uses this Food Lion regularly, spending a lot of money here. We live here full-time, so we put up with the savagery, rudeness and crowding during the summer season. So we wait until the summer to have actual cashiers because off-season you are lucky to have one cashier open. Otherwise, it's self checkout for which this is no discount to do your own checking out. So, here comes summer and Food Lion brings in the foreign student to work. They cannot be fired and they take hours away from the full-time workers. Not fair. Most are lazy, and non-communicative, looking at their watch or cellphone frequently. The worst part however is that they will never say a word to you while you're checking out, never hello, goodbye, have a nice day NOTHING! Food Lion: Remember we are YOUR customers. Whatever happened to customer service? Secondly, if they do speak it's to each other in their foreign language, clued-up at the end of my check-out. This is down right rude. Another thing the foreign students do is pack as many cans in one bag as possible. If you complain to the manager, which we have, they assure you that he will make them watch the old worn out vhs tape again on packing a grocery bag as they take their break. I am not against foreign workers. I'm glad they are here and able to work, but we need more than a warm body. They need an exchange program with Publix to see how customer service should be done.
