Update 2:I was able to get in touch with the owner via instagram. Honestly I'm not sure what the extent of the situation is but she seemed genuinely apologetic and willing to work on retraining the staff. I hope that they do because I really like this idea. But it needs a much better execution. UpdateI am extremely upset. I've attended Harry Potter themed dinner at where my child was improperly served alcohol which I caught just in time. The server mixed it up right in front of me and I had to call her back multiple times to correct the issue. I am now being contacted by other patrons and a news agency saying that it was in fact my child's fault. I was there with my husband who also witnessed the entire thing. The server apologized for her mistake and offered us a 20% discount. It was not a big deal for me. But now I find out the establishment is lying about what happened and I'm very upset.

I wouldn't go back. The crab cakes didn't have much flavor. The risotto was bland. The salmon was the saving grace of my meal bc it was very well seasoned. The drinks weren't good. And the service was weird, started out too friendly then the man stopped talking to us altogether and was cussing under his breath. I think the kitchen made him upset but I was uncomfortable at the place. The vibes didn't know if they wanted to be a beach bar or a nice seafood restaurant. And it was kinda dingy and bathroom was almost that of a gas station.

The more I think about this place, the more conflicted I am. Our usual spot was super busy, so we decided to give this place a 'go'. A fantastic location (right off the beach), so we decided to stop by. Nice staff (particularly the tall gentleman who took care of us). Drinks and the food were alright. But here's where everything kind of goes off the rails. Even though you're right off the beach, the decor was very dated and bland. The outdoor space was also very uninteresting, with its saving grace being the view of the beach. There was a staff member who insisted on watching the Euro match on his mobile at full volume, and couldn't be arsed to look like he at least worked there until I dropped a menu and he came over to pick it up. And the fried foods were good, with a good combination of spices and textures, but the flavor of the seafood was unbalanced and a bit weird (did they make a mignonette with celery?). Come for the drinks and the view. But when it comes to food quality and a restaurant experience, there are better places in VA Beach than here.

Not sure if this is a new restaurant, but I would consider this a hidden gem at VA Beach since it's located in Ramada Hotel. While all the other restaurants required reservations FishTails didn't. It's a small restaurant that faces the beach (again why it's a hidden gem!). The place wasn't crowded, we were seated right away. I ordered the Tuscan Salmon and it was delicious! It consisted grilled salmon, spinach, marinated cherry tomatoes, parmesan risotto $24. IT WAS WORTH THE PRICE. Order the salmon medium well! It will still be soft and juicy! Overall service was fast and sweet waiter!

Stopped in for an orange crush while on a recent trip to the beach. Ended up trying the dreamcicle one. It was really good. The bartender was a very nice recent transplant at the time. She was good. However from the rest of the time there id say they were understaffed. Couldn't even get help when attempting to get breakfast there. It's right on the board walk with live music in the evenings. I'd recommend drinks here while enjoying the music but not a meal.

The service was good, but the food was not. Me & my mother were served raw lobster, we took a few bites and could tell it was off. The top was cooked a little but the whole bottom was raw. They discounted the lobsters off, but honestly the doesn't make up for the fact we were served raw lobster. I didn't make a scene, we were just disgusted and wanted to leave ASAP. I truthfully would of preferred not being charged anything. Not only that but the cocktail I was served was a broken glass. I didn't even take pictures, as I was mainly concerned that we had just ate raw lobster, which I had all the reasons to be concerned as our stomached were cramping after an hour. Apart from throwing up, and just having a terrible night of stomach pain.

We stayed at the Ramada Plaza for VBJeepFest and having a restaurant in the hotel was a wonderful option after a long day on the beach having a blast. Initially I had my doubts due to the low rating but we took a chance and I'm glad we did. We did enter the restaurant to an empty hosting stand all 3 visits but we sat where we wanted and they found us. A few of the visits we found the tables needing a wipe down and the air still on but the servers were quite friendly and our drinks and food arrived fast, hot and all in a timely manner. In all 3 visits (Friday night, Saturday night & Sunday morning) the place was sparsely occupied but once we got seated, it filled up.As for the good-both nights I had the French Onion burger with a side of mayo and bacon jam (I could it that jam as a dessert!) and it came out perfectly cooked to my liking (no pink) and it was beyond delicious! Juicy, flavorful with the bacon jam and mayo. The fries are seasoned and while shoestring still enough to be filling. The only fail for me was the stuffed FT. It wasn't really stuffed with anything as much as layered with sugary sweet cream that was gritty and not very tasty. I took most of it off and ate the toast without it. The fresh fruit was yummy but the breakfast star was the potato hash. Not so much a hash as home fried. The seasoning was spot on with tinier than normal sea salt with onions and peppers. Really really good potatoes. The drinks are overpriced-my OJ was $6 for a small. If we ever go back it's water all the way.All in all, for me our 3 visits were a win. Servers friendly-food came fast-delectable dining.Take a sweater if you'll be there in November and don't be put off by the empty host stand.

Do not order the surf and turf. The steak was supposed to be ribeye but it was definitely not. It was not even steak; not sure what kind of meat it was. I dont know how even describe it, was "smooth" on the inside. Steak eaters know that ribeye has fat and tender, this was not that. When I said something to waitress she said that others have also complained about it. She gave me 20% discount which is nothing but the "locals" discount. Will not go back. 4 stars for waitress and 3 stars for location of restaurant.

I stayed at the hotel and the restaurant was downstairs. I enjoyed the dishes I receive, the drinks are delicious and the bartenders Kyle and Apollo make you feel at home. definitely recommend

Not a fan! Oceanfront seating was nice, but the covered patio we sat at was dirty. "No smoking", but cigarette butts all over the floor. The food was okay. Short staffed. Our waiter for dinner was also the bartender, AND he was working the next morning when I stopped by for a to go coffee. Maybe the scowl on his face was because he was having to do it all! With dinner, my friend and I each had 2 frozees (like a slurpy with wine in it) AND a mixed drink, but did not feel it, so I guess he was skimping on the alcohol! The other oceanfront restaurants we ate at on the boardwalk were much better!
