I came here for a Virginia Symphony Orchestra concert, and I thought the acoustics were nice! I even had a conversation with a VSO musician, and he shared his enjoyment of the concert hall while confirming it has good acoustics. The venue itself is beautiful and well-maintained. The interior is really clean, including a spotless lobby and spacious, clean bathrooms. Despite having cheaper student tickets, our seats were comfortable and provided a good view. The ushers were really friendly and helpful in guiding us to our seats. I recommend looking up parking information before you go. We were a bit confused, and later discovered there were closer parking options available.

The arts are alive in Coastal Virginia! We have been enjoying performances at the Ferguson Center on Christopher Newport University's campus in Newport News. We love this theater!! Parking is free in a garage that's a short walk to the front doors. Or, if that distance is too far or if it's raining, they have a free shuttle service. The center has two stages. We've seen musical and theatrical performances. They bring in excellent acts for all ages. Seating is very good in the orchestra and the Grand Circle. I have not sat in the top balcony Dress Circle or Parterre, so I'm unsure of those views. You can purchase wine, beer, soda, or water at a fair price, and they will provide a covered cup if you'd like to take your drink into the theater. When it comes to buying show tickets, I like to visit the box office in person and pay by cash or checks to avoid all fees. Otherwise, they have a small credit card fee. Online sales have high fees. If you have a group of 10 or more, contact them for a discount. Enjoy the show!

Took my son to see Blippi yesterday and the venue was very nice, a good size, and clean. There are stairs and elevators to reach the second and third floor. Even from the higher seats the view of the stage is pretty good.

It was our first time here and we had a great time at the Ferguson Center! The building was pristine, the acoustics were amazing, and parking was efficient. When we arrived, we were directed to the parking garage where there was an attendant every step of the way guiding people to keep driving towards the empty spots. The walk from the garage to the building was fast and easy. Once in the doors, we were given clear directions where to enter to best reach our seats. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. When we left, we were a bit confused when we hurried back to our car to leave faster because we were stuck in an unmoving line of cars for about 30minutes. When we finally started moving, we realized that the entire garage in front of us had been emptied. We assume the parking attendants guide the flow of traffic to let out every car in order, like an airplane unboarding, so we were less annoyed at that point and more impressed. We definitely plan on coming back and either arriving earlier to get a spot to be let out faster or hanging out after the show while the rest of the garage exits.

This venue is great. Sound is great and theater small enough to clearly view performances. Staff is especially attentive. Great venue for people needing accommodations.

Thoroughly enjoyed another show at this excellent venue. All the staff were super friendly and tonight's performance by Post Modern Jukebox sounded amazing in this theatre... there were no bad seats.

Meh.... Let's see left a lot to be desired. We were not led in a timely manner. They heard it us all in like cattle. There was no one to help you. Find your seat if it was your first time here And the attendance stood at the back of the room and reeked of cigarettes also said Attendant also didn't bother to turn off his cellphone. So it rang during the performance, how nice and one would not stop playing with plastic in their purse. So that was very disturbing. Also paid $80 to sit in a chair That would be given as a companion seat. And I could have gone to a cook out and got a better seat. It was a folding chair. That's what you pay $80 for if you need to sit in a different chair. Definitely unimpressed, not sure if I'll be back. They also allowed the people that sat next to me to talk through most of the show instead of asking them. Politely to leave Chrysler hall and Altria Definitely have this place beat. As well as their concessions, there was nothing to be desired. A couple racks, a candy bars and a few coolers with some wine and beer. And Water and soda. No popcorn, no customer service again. Maybe i'm missing the ambiance of this place, but I don't see it

On the positive end, the theater is kept absolutely pristine. It's clean and the acoustics are fantastic. I went to a country concert and I could actually hear the lyrics instead of just guitars and drums. There's no food, just drinks and they attach lids to the glasses of beer and wine in order to help prevent spills. It's kind of hard to look cool drinking a beer with a coffee lid-looking contraption on top.Parking is free but not marked and this is what hurt my experience. If you're going at night like I was, and it's your first time, be careful. I had to make 3 or 4 U-turns before I finally found a spot. And then you'll be walking at least five minutes to get inside, which isn't a whole lot of fun on a 30 degree evening.
