Farmer's Cafe

My in-laws always come here when visiting their family in VA. They liked their breakfast selections--particularly the sausage gravy and the chicken fried steak with white gravy.

Excellent food, good portons, friendly service, and definitely that old-school-hometown diner feel. It's dark and the walls are covered in local memorabilia. Really good bacon! Note, they DO NOT serve breakfast all day anymore.

Went in last minute as we were starving, and left fuller than ticks! The food was delicious, and the staff gave great service. The place is decorated in an awesome way, I plan to return someday to add my own military patch to the wall. Definitely recommend!

I came in n for breakfast and was absolutely delighted. Great hometown restaurant with Solis food and great friendly service. All three of us had something different and were delighted. Great pancakes, great omelette, perfectly done bacon and first class coffee. For myself, I took advantage of the scrambled eggs and pigs brain. It sounds weird, but it was delicious and done well (which is somewhat of a challenge). I have not eaten there for anything but breakfast, but I will be back for that again, and dinner when I get a chance.

Cheap, good eats. Breakfast served all day. Lunch and dinner options too. They have really good liver dinners on Tuesday and their chicken dinners on Thursday are a local favorite.

Definitely a farmer's place to be. Nice kitchen for the locals. General Southern homestyle cooking. This place probably has more appeal to you if you grew up around here. After half-a-dozen visits I haven't had much luck finding something so good on the menu that I was compelled to come keep returning. Then again, I'm not a local farmer either. My favorite item on the menu is probably the Mexican Salad and Hot Chocolate (It's really hard to be mediocre on Hot Chocolate). I was told the coffee is good too but I don't drink coffee.

All the locals go to Farmers. And for good reason. The food is great, prices are good and the staff is awesome!

I have recently had two very good breakfasts at the Farmer's Cafe in Blackstone! The food was very good and reasonably priced in today's crazy world. If they could do anything better it would be fill your coffee cup a little more often. That said the coffee is very good. Blackstone has needed a good breakfast place and for me this fills that need. Enjoy!!

The best all around cafe in Blackstone. The Sheriff department and local police all eat here so that should tell you something. Inside is a warm cozy atmosphere where you will find soldiers from Fort Pickett and tons of locals all chowing down. The food is awesome, good old fashioned country cooking. It's a shame they are no longer open in the evening and limited weekend hours. They are looking for good help in the kitchen which they promise to bring back longer hours

Definitely try this place if you are looking for an affordable comfort food lunch or dinner in Blackstone. I had the turkey and dressing with greens, baked apples and a roll. It was a large delicious meal that was very affordable. I will be going back.
