Famous Pizza and Sub Shop

This place is DEFINITELY THE BEST OPTION FOR PIZZA ON THE ISLAND! I had to wait quite a while to get my pizza, and I got mine for take-out. But, it was pretty good! The staff was good, the pizza was good, and even tho it was empty when I arrived, it filled up by the time I walked out with my pizzas in the summer heat! I could see myself coming back again!Thanks!

Famous is our go-to for some salad and pizza takeout on the night we arrive for vacation. The pizza is great and there are a good amount of toppings to choose from. Salads are fresh and the large is big enough to share between 2-3 people as a side. Food is always ready fast as well. Withholding one star for the pickup experience, however. When you pick up your order, you have to go into an area of the restaurant which also holds seating, the drink fountain, oh and the counter where both dine-in customers are ordering AND pickup customers are trying to get their orders. There is no separation between people ordering and people picking up which means you might be waiting a long time for food that is already done and ready. Is that your pizza getting cold on the counter? Too bad, you're waiting for this family of 6 to figure out their order and dig out a wallet to pay at the counter before you're picking it up. Meanwhile, dine-in customers are cutting through sideways trying to get a drink refill and the disorganized line is backing up against the tables at the front of the building. I feel like I'm on the old timey stock exchange floor every time I go in there except it's boiling hot and smells like pizza. It's a busy place, and I get it when the food is good and the prices are right. But I don't see why they can't divide the counter into lines for Order and Pickup because it seems like this would dramatically improve and speed up the experience for everyone involved.

The bacon smash burger was amazing! Everything from the chargrilled burger itself to the smash sauce and bun, very delicious. The fries were fresh as well. My only complaint- and I won't even take a star off, is that the prices on Yelp are very out of date, the old menu prices say around $5 for a burger and todays prices are about $11.99 for a bacon smash, so over twice the price. Still worth the stop!

Just reviewing the pizza only. It was much better than I expected. Had three pizzas: cheese, pepperoni, and meat lovers. Really no complaints, they were all pretty good considering what is available in the area. Reasonably priced, easy online ordering and quick. I would recommend if you're looking for a quick pizza meal.

Very tasty sauce, loads of cheese and tons of pepperoni on a pretty good pizza! The dough looks pre-made, rather than hand tossed and I wasn't expecting it to be 'real pizza' but indeed, it is, and very enjoyable. Oooey-gooey cheese and plenty of it!The dough was a little softer than I prefer and not irregular at the edges like hand tossed and was not the taste I'm used to, but I have to admit, it was good!The pepperoni is spicy and tastes like pepperoni should. Really good. You order at the counter and get a buzzer. Get your drinks at the dispenser. As soon as we buzzed I stood up to go to the counter but a smiling young lady brought our pizza right to our table. I would definitely return when I come back this way. Everything looked good and everyone was pleasant. The meals we saw coming out looked pretty darn good also.

The pizza was amazing... delicious crust, savory pizza sauce, and the best cheese! My boyfriend says the sweet tea is the best he's had in a long time. The woman at the counter was friendly and greeted us with a smile. Our pizza came out quickly and was piping hot. The restaurant is low key and not much to look at, but it was clean and cool on a hot day. We will definitely return!

Our whole party got the Philly cheesesteak and it was pretty good. Not the best we've ever had but good enough. The 6 inch was plenty and tasty to keep someone full. My daughter had the chicken tenders and fries and it was decent size amount of food for her as well. We placed our order to go and service was quick and the food was ready in ten minutes. Can't beat that. This is a good place to eat for a family!

Casual and unassuming atmosphere. Order food at the counter. Service was minimal. Prices were reasonable. Food was from ordinary to great, depending on what you order. We ordered 3*House salad: per normal.5*Crabby Pizza: costs a bit more, but well worth it. Mouthful of crab meat and tasted good.

I went here twice during my stay for work. The first time o got a sub and the second time a pizza. The food was quick, great, and everything I could have asked for.Each time I took it back to my hotel room and ate it there. I found they provided the proper utensils each time. When I come back to town, I will be returning here

If you are getting pastas or pizza there isn't much they can do to mess it up. Subs are terrible. Do you think we are stupid? You order a foot long cheeseburger sub, they take one fricking burger and cut it into tiny pieces and mix it with a pound of cheese and charge you $17 for it. That's a rip off. The cheese steak wasn't much different. About 4 tablespoons of meat and the rest they fill the damn roll with about two cups of shredded lettuce. If you are the only choice for subs on the island locals are doomed and visitors are shafted. Do Better. Be know for quality and quantity not cheapskate tactics. Free refills doesn't make up for those stupid subs.
