It's hit or miss on when your room gets made. You basically have to negotiate with them. Sometimes the beds aren't even made on the 5th floor. True mark of a poor hotel. The town center area and the nearest restaurants are still at least a 15 minute or half mile walk from the hotel. The front desk staff never greets you or smiles.I stay at Marriott properties almost 200 nights a year for work, and this location falls short of the usual standard. They wanted to charge me an extra night for wanting to leave earlier than planned, making it feel like you're trapped if your plans change. The property is also noticeably more expensive than other nearby Marriotts, yet lacks basic services like daily room cleaning. Overall, a disappointing experience considering the price and my loyalty to the brand.

What a great selection for our families needs. We are in town for a track meet. Which is only 12 min away. This hotel is conveniently located a short distance from a cluster of shopping centers! Plenty of dining options, shopping, family fun activities and plenty of stuff to do. The Fairfield staff is amazing! Upon check in I was greeted by a staff member who was just arriving, he was very friendly and went to get someone to help me check in. Coco checked us in, she was very friendly and knowledgeable. She let me know where the local attractions were and she also let me know they offered a tap bar where you can get wine and beer, self served! They even offer chilled wine and beer glasses!! Later that evening after returning from APEx my husband and I were able to enjoy the tap options with the help of another staff member ( I did not get her name, she had red hair) she was very friendly and also suggested a local pizza spot) we will have to try it out tonight. We opted for dominos and I should have trusted the Yelp reviews. The dominos was TRASH! This hotel also offers continental breakfast from 7-10! With a variety of breakfast options! As you can see in the photos this Fairfield location is beautiful! The decor and ambiance are spot on! We have yet to check out the indoor pool and fitness area but they do have them both! If you come to this area I highly recommend this hotel! Just 2 years old, clean, convenient, the lobby is large and also decorated with style!

This Marriott property unfortunately does not do housekeeping for guest rooms. The reasoning, to limit contact between customers and employees. Yet, there are no local rules or guidelines implying a need to reduce contact. Mandating mask wearing by all employees including housekeepers would be an effective way to reduce contact but that is not a policy or a practice at this hotel. This is a very new hotel. The staff does a good job keeping the property clean. The gym and swimming pool area are very well kept. There's always a full stock of towels at the pool. Parking is free and very convenient. There are a few spots right outside the front door, but when they're full there are plenty of spots in the garage across the driveway.Although this hotel is branded as being in town center, it is not a walking distance to the actual town center. Restaurants, convenience stores, all well outside of easy walking distance.During my four-day stay I experienced two types of guest rooms. Initially I was in a regular king room. The king room seemed very small. The only seating area in that room other than the bed was a small uncomfortable Grandma's house living room chair. As a titanium elite member, after one night in the small king room I requested an upgrade. The front desk was kind enough to find me a king suite. This room was much more comfortable with a nice sofa, coffee table, and a good size desk.

We spent 3 comfortable nights here. The rooms were clean and well-appointed. The staff was efficient and friendly. The common areas of the hotel were well-maintained and assessable. We would stay here again.

The hotel looks very chic from the outside and the inside is nice, average for a hotel. The room was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. The worst part was the walls were thin and the people staying in the room next to ours had their tv on high volume until 1am which made it hard to sleep. The breakfast selection was very mediocre and the scone I tried was so stale I took a bite and threw it away. Staff was friendly but overall I'd probably stay somewhere else next time I'm in Virginia Beach.

I've stayed here literally hundreds of times over the past two years. Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely! The staff are courteous, the building is clean (and newish), the service is great. This hotel is fanstastic for individuals, families, or groups. There's plenty of nearby dining options and easy access to the freeway. There's a major shopping about a mile away, which you can drive or walk to using a sidewalk. Onsite there's the typical breakfast menu offering as well as a self-serve tap/pub that operates in the evening/night time. Across the street is a neat little nature trail that goes over a creek and behind the nearby apartments. There's outside parking as well as garage parking (which is great for shading the car in the summer). The pool, fitness center, lobby/lounge, and bar/tap are all kept in great shape. There's a conference room you can use/rent but I don't have any experience with it.In the few cases where I or another guest had an issue the staff were quick to solve the issue.A special shout out to the staff at this Fairfield Inn- Thomas, Coco, Aysha, Cherie, Taheem, Jean, Maurice, and several other staff who've made my stays here pleasant. For front-end employees working in customer-facing roles they do a great job providing excellent service, friendly interactions, and an effort worthy of recognition. The only complaint, if I can call them that, about the hotel is that sometimes the bacon is a little too crunchy for my liking. And since this is such a popular and busy hotel in the summer, maybe they could add an extra luggage cart or two.

We highly recommend staying here. The hotel was spotless!Bright, modern, and nicely decorated. It's close to Town Center for shopping and dining. The entire staff were exceptionally friendly, courteous, polite, and helpful. Customer service care was excellent and made you feel welcomed after a long drive. Ms Jean Mott at customer service was super nice and friendly, and so were others at the desk. It was a pleasure coming in and being greeted so warmly. Food service staff, Mr. Maurice, Ms. Patel, and Ms. Nexi were wonderful and very friendly. Food was very good too! The entire staff were very nice and would always ask if we needed any assistance. This is our second time staying here and it won't be our last. Kudos to all of the staff! Thank you for making our stay a wonderful experience. Best, Settles family from Philadelphia

5 stars should translate into 5 million stars in this case!!! i contacted fisvab on the morning of my arrival and spoke with sharon. she was exceptionally top-tier in professionalism. not only was every question answered, but every need was met with efficiency from the entrance to the exit. don't get me wrong, all of god's children are royalty. however, i was treated like the queen of the crop. i witnessed sharon's transparency with all of the patrons of the hotel. she operates with a stellar sense of excellency. her team is awesome. overall, the apple does not fall far from the tree. i was more than blessed and honored to experience the caliber of cleanliness, courteousness, and calmness throughout my entire stay. if i did not have other engagements to attend to, i would have loved to extend my stay. this was a definite god-send. god-willing, i will be back. john 3:3,16,17, romans 10:9-13 & joshua 1:8 god bless you all. thank you again-jacquelyn

I had a terrible stay at this property. I recently went to visit my son who is stationed in the area. During my stay, I was bit by something in the bed there. The bed was uncomfortable to begin with and I woke up with several bite marks and a rash all on my hip, which is the same side I sleep on. I shared this concern and was met with little empathy and made to feel like this was a routine event. Thankfully I was able to receive a credit for the remainder of my scheduled stay but no refund was issued for the night that I encountered being bit by something at the property. The GM did reach out to me and share there was no evidence of bed bugs by their pest control but all I know is I went to bed fine and woke up with bite marks and a painful rash. This was a nightmare for me while visiting from out of state. Beware when staying here. I had to find a new property to stay at and was met with much better service at another Marriott property. The employee at the other property made me feel valued and apologized for my experience at this location. Stay somewhere else! Avoid the health concern and the distress of staying at this property. I found another review with the same concern on Google. Also, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything in the halls and surrounding rooms. Several times I thought someone was trying to enter my room!!! The elevator takes an extremely long time to access. I opted to take the stairs but this may not be the best hotel for someone who is not able to wait for the slow elevator.
