Extraordinary Cupcakes

We gave my 8-year-old daughter a choice of frozen custard at the Meadows or cupcakes from here. She chose poorly. Even my 3-year-old isn't eating her cupcake. I mean, they're more interested in the spinach and mango smoothie that my wife just made. Let that sink in for a second: kids would rather have spinach than these cupcakes. We bought five different cupcakes and cut them in quarters to all share. They are of a good size, I will say that. The cake portion is very dense and not very flavorful. They all sort of tasted the same. The icing is definitely what carries the flavors, and while it's not bad, it's nothing extraordinary. The Boston Crème "filled" cupcake had about a pencil-width of filling inside; barely enough to register the flavor. I really hate giving local businesses bad reviews, but... here we are. Left with a box of sad cupcakes and regrets.

The name says it all folks! These cupcakes are more extraordinary than extraordinary (is that even possible?!)! I walked away with 6 cupcakes total at an investment of a lil under $30 (ouch). The cupcakes are on the bigger side and are gourmet. 5 different flavors later (2 of the same for a chocolate one), I was highly satisfied with all of them.The flavors are pretty basic (choco/ van/etc) and slightly deviate from the norm BUT they do them well. I would recommend them to include "cupcake cards" when you walk away as I don't remember what the names are or exactly what flavor is which but I can always look on the site to see which 1 is which.The cupcakes are moist and topped with a thick but no too sweet icing which compliments the cake perfectly. Even after getting them on a Saturday, today is Wednesday and I JUST ate the last 1 and it was still moist. I like the sweet sugary icing from the stores but this icing is "creamy" and not overwhelmingly sweet as you would think. I dont believe my cupcakes were made earlier that AM but I could be wrong as they came out cool-they were still delicious tho!Flavors I picked up were:Fantastic Vanilla Flip: Yellow cake (van flavored) with an EXCITING RICH CHOCOLATE icingThe "Extraordinary": Incredible chocolate cake with choco ganache & creamy filling Chocolate w/ Vanilla icing: Rich chocolate flavor with light, vanilla icing & deep dark choco frostingMarvelous Madagascar: Deliciously ALL VANILLA flavorLucious Lemon Raspberry: The raspberry frosting on this was phenomenal and very tasty but I didnt really taste the lemony goodness in the cake itself. Was also filled w/ raspberry glaze. The raspberry icing takes the cake on this one!Great place while stopping to see the sites in Colonial Williamsburg.

Holy cow!!! I found cupcakes almost exact like the ones I am obsessed with in Washington DC called Baked and wired. The cupcakes here are a good size! Larger than your standard cupcake. My favorite cupcake to purchase wherever, whenever available is a chocolate cake and white icing. I was excited to see they had one just like it. It was wonderful! Moist, rich chocolate cake, nice light and sugary icing. We had other cupcakes as well and they all delivered the same great taste. I ordered right before they closed via DoorDash. I really appreciate the effort to get the order out before closing.

The cupcakes are so good. I've been following with them almost 10 years. So sad to see the store front is now closed.

Wow! What a scare! My wife and I recently stopped by our favorite cupcake place in Hampton Roads. Turns out we accidentally went to the old location and thought the business had closed. I called the number and was relieved to learn that they'd simply relocated to Market Square in Williamsburg...whew! Dyna makes absolutely the most delicious cupcakes we've had anywhere in the world, and we've been across the globe. We ordered the lemon raspberry, the Madagascar vanilla, chocolate flip, and the chocolate peanut butter. We love the filling combinations Dyna uses, and the contrasts are amazing! She used to sell her signature "Extraordinary Cupcake" which was a decadent version of a Hostess cupcake that was to die for. Maybe if people start asking for it again she'll bring it back?!!! We can't say enough about how good her cupcakes are, Enjoy!!!

If you want to eat a true gourmet cupcake then this is where to go! They are huge and delicious and perfect every single bite every single time!My favorites are their signature Extraordinary Chocolate and Uncommon Carrot.They even have gluten free that taste just as moist and delicious as the rest! Friendly folks, not overly priced, taste great every purchase! Warning: ADDICTIVE & not suitable for dieting!

Extraordinary Cupcakes saved the day(s)!!!!I live out of state and was having difficulty finding a Williamsburg bakery to make & deliver a birthday cake to my mother whose retirement community had restricted access during the pandemic. The woman I spoke with was incredibly helpful!I chose the Bewitching Blueberry Lemon. The decoration was beautiful & my mother assured me it was delicious!! The experience was so fantastic, I ordered the Sinfully Salted Caramel cake for my father's birthday the following week!I look forward to patronizing Extraordinary Cupcakes when I come for a visit later this year!

The shop is beautifully decorated and painted. My boys loved the tall stools with tic tax toe game to play. The retro coffee bar area is adorable. Unfortunately the cupcakes, which we expected to be amazing based on reviews, were extremely dry and beyond disappointing.We stopped in around 4pm on a Tuesday, three hours before closing time. All three of the flavors we got - Wicked Chocolate, Vanilla Flip, and Madagascar Vanilla - were very dried out and the icing was hard, like they had been baked three days ago. Very, very disappointing.

Though ordering them was smooth via their online system.....the cupcakes were "meh!" They were dry (both the cake and the frosting!). What a disappointment! I'm not sure is weddings are their "thing" but the cupcakes were mediocre
