We've been shopping for a kitchen table for months. We finally found one, but I wanted to share my experience at Esprit Decor several weeks ago. It's actually taken me some time to put this experience into words after the disgraceful treatment we received here. The store is located off South Battlefield. The storefront is very deceptive. Once you get inside, it's massive - over 60,000 square feet of furniture! One could even get lost just looking at furniture here. We came in with our young daughter after a day of outdoor activities and were greeted at the front door by a gentleman right away (I believe his name was Jim or maybe Joe, but I'd really rather forget him). We gave him a synopsis of what type of dining set we were hunting for, and shown directly to a section of Canadel furniture. He let us know about their options (colors/finishes/sizing) and seemed to be guiding us toward their "cheaper" options, despite the fact that we had not said a word about budget. Every time we asked a question (be it about a chair option, delivery estimate or stain), he seemed bothered by having to supply an answer. We let him know that wanted to look at the other offerings in the store and also that we would likely have to return with our paint, counter and cabinet samples to make a more informed purchase. Once we indicated we weren't going to be spending money that day, Jim/Joe's demeanor downgraded even further. He had the gall to reprimand our daughter very loudly, who was trying to climb onto the dining chairs when we encouraged her to "try them out." Furniture is for sitting in by the entire family. Our toddler is not an exception. She will never be discounted when we make a family decision and should have never been made to feel bad about doing what her parents instructed her to do. If Jim/Joe had an issue with our daughter climbing on to the furniture, just as she would be doing in her own home, he should have spoken to us directly before speaking to our child. I will NEVER step foot back in this establishment. Making assumptions about our income is one thing. Yelling at my daughter is another. I actually have tears streaming as I write this review because his scolding OUR child hurt me so deeply. I would plead with you to look elsewhere without the slightest hint of hesitation. I will be posting about our wonderful experience at West Elm in VB, including the incredibly kind and respectful treatment of our daughter. We eventually spent our hard-earned money on a dining set there and will absolutely be shipping there in the future.

I purchase over $14,000 of furniture in 2029. One of the items was. Bassett dining room set. One of the chairs broke within the first year. The table surface scratches to easily, I have to keep a table cloth on at all times. A large sectional has material that pills constantly. I spoke to someone there is seemed very disinterested and told me I could use paint pens to cover scratches on the table and told me I had to purchase a gadget to remove the pilling on the sectional myself. I have purchased a bedroom set in the past with no problems. However, the difference to customer satisfaction made me decide to shop elsewhere from now on.

We just recently went to Esprit Decor In Chesapeake in search of a new living room set. I figured we'd give them a try since we live in Chesapeake. My husband jokingly said that the last time he was there that he couldn't get anyone to acknowledge him with the exception of the friendly cleaning lady who was vacuuming the floors. I thought this was an exaggeration on his part. No so! We walked in dressed appropriately I might add and were never so much as acknowledged with even a head nod with the exception of the nice cleaning lady. We walked the entire store. Luckily we didn't find anything we were interested in any way. the furniture looks tired and outdated much like the store associates. I definitely would not recommend this store. Five stars for the cleaning lady though ;)

I love that we have a great furniture store that is local and that I can support a Great Bridge business. I have purchased things over the years and have been thoroughly impressed with the above and beyond, great, quality customer service. All of my furniture is beautiful and couldn't be happier with the set up and delivery guys as well. I am actually working with Melissa again to purchase bedroom furniture for my daughter and she is so patient and kind. She has helped me from start to finish with my purchases and I just think she is awesome. Thanks Esprit for always making me happy with my purchases and shopping experiences. I bought a dresser a few years back and the bottom drawer quit working and Ricky helped me get the hard wear from the company to fix it, which I thought was so awesome considering they don't even make that dresser anymore!!! Don't mind the negative comments. Go check them out yourself!

I will only buy furniture from Esprit Decor from now on. Very large selection of all the furniture that you would need to furnish a mansion to an apartment. Staff is very kind and welcoming. Very well established business that will be around for a very long time. Joe is great to work with. Delivery was about two days. We moved into a new apartment on a Tuesday. Had the furniture delivered Wednesday. Had to switch units Wednesday so we were able to move it back to Friday and add a love seat. Very accommodating.

What started off as a great experience has gone down hill quickly. We moved into a home with flooring that was previously installed in the main living area by Esprit Decor. We got in touch with Kris in the flooring department, and she said the flooring had been discontinued. My husband stopped by Carpet World on a whim and the gentleman found the correct flooring in seconds (this should have been our first indication).We still moved forward with ED because we wanted the floors to have a seamless flow throughout the house...and it did. Tim and his crew did an outstanding job, they were professional and efficient. However, as they were wrapping things up, they left the stairs undone. So the entire house has the same flooring except for one strip of old shag carpet on the stairs. Both Tim and Kris claim that we said we didn't want to do the stairs and stated that even our realtor said we didn't (we checked...he did not). In fact, the day before the installation we stopped by ED to confirm the details and to select the runner to go over the stairs. I specifically asked if rounded caps would be used on the stairs and it was made to sound like all the necessary materials were ordered.When speaking to Kris after the misunderstanding, she said she would work something out for us since the contractor had included labor for the stairs in the original bid. She then came back (as usual) several days later with a quote for 4k for just stairs plus another 2k+ for the runner. That would be a total of 18k for bedrooms and stairs. Carpet World would have done the entire thing for 4k less, and seem more knowledgeable, efficient, and quick/professional to respond. We regret not going with them...save yourself the trouble and the cost. We had originally recommended ED to our neighbor who is redoing her carpet, but were thankfully able to save her the trouble!ALSO ALL THE BELOW REVIEWS ARE TRUE: No one acknowledges your existence. The owners say that this is a non typical non-commission staff. Not sure what "not being pushy" has to do with being helpful and polite.

My mom and I went to Espirt Decor on a Wednesday to shop for several pieces of furniture. There were numerous staff present and when one was asked about a specific item my mother was told "it is way way in the back, I will meet you back there" she never came back there and I wandered around the store for a good 15 minutes to find what I was looking for. We finally received an offer of assistance as we were walking out the door. I wanted to shop local - this is not the place to do it. We went somewhere else and purchased a couch, a dining set for 8 people and 2 accent chairs. I will not return to this business. They have a commercial that says it is worth the drive- I live in Chesapeake and it wasn't worth the drive.

I ordered a cabinet in May and was told it would be six weeks noone contacted me to let me know the status of the order so 10 weeks later i called to check on the order i was told it would take another 3 to 4 weeks the manager was not professional blaming all on Covid and was told I should have bought it when i saw it I will never return to this establishment my money that i put toward it was returned
