Elizabeth Manor Golf & Country Club

Lots and lots of great history at this golf course. This is the site of the Eastern Amateur dating back to 1957 (with a couple of exceptions). It's one of the best kept secrets in the area. Not many of us travel to Portsmouth for golf but heading to this place is always a treat. The course doesn't play too long and isn't overly difficult. What is so great about this course are the greens. They roll as smooth as glass. The course is located on some sort of body of water and has some beautiful views. I'm looking forward to my upcoming golf tournament when the weather gets warm.

We had our wedding here at the end of December and it went perfectly. We had both the ceremony and reception indoors and the staff worked so well with us to make sure things went smoothly and we had an easy transition from ceremony to cocktail hour while the staff flipped the room and then moved into the reception. We have no complaints. All of the staff were so friendly and wonderful! Rebecca was amazing with working with us before the wedding to get everything planned and then on the day of the wedding she was beyond words. Rebecca was amazing- she worked so hard to make sure things went perfectly and worked behind the scenes to make sure me, as bride, did not even see hiccups in the day. Our wedding day was relaxed, cozy, beautiful, and so fun! Thank you, Rebecca and Elizabeth Manor!

Our wedding was at Elizabeth Manor in July and everything was perfect! I was adamant about having the ceremony and reception in the same place because we had a lot of out-of-town guests and we didn't want them having to travel from the ceremony to the reception. Anne and her crew set the room up one way for the ceremony and then flipped the room right before cocktail hour to turn it into a beautiful reception space! The servers were quick when bringing dinner out and were accessible when we needed them. There is a beautiful outdoor area that overlooks the water, and it provided an amazing backdrop when we took pictures after the ceremony. The meal prices are unbeatable and every plate I saw was nearly cleared when my husband and I walked around to talk to our guests. Elizabeth Manor provided all of our linens, plates, and silverware. They also ordered our chair covers for us from their outside vendor. I loved how easy it was to contact Anne with my many questions in the months and weeks leading up to our ceremony; she always responded right away and her crew was at the venue all day of the wedding to help us set up. There are two large ladies/men's rooms where we were able to get ready before the ceremony, and they even have cabinets with locks for you to lock away your belongings if you want to keep them safe while you're getting married. People have asked me what I would have changed about our wedding day if I could. My answer is always: nothing! Everything was perfect on the happiest day of our lives.

This place has so much nostalgic value to me. My best friend's parents are members & I spent many summer days with her at the pool during middle & high school. We always used to order their in house made chicken salad sandwiches, that are to this day the best chicken salad I've ever had. I loved all the food you could order from the grill. It also became my first job when I was 16, working as a banquet & pool server. I had worked many a weddings here during high school & was happy this past weekend to return after almost a decade (sigh) for one of my childhood friend's wedding reception. It's a great place for a small/medium sized reception. Plenty of views of the water & a large deck on the back for party goers. Couldn't tell you a thing about the golf course, but the clubhouse is fabulous!!

This is a great golf course. It is spacious, well kept and the golfers really seemed to enjoy playing in the golf tournament. It was better than I expected for being in Portsmouth.

I was able to spend time playing tennis while my son participated in a golf tournament. I really benefited from the 1:1 lesson with the pro, Mike, and in addition was able to fill in for ladies doubles on another morning. This is a nice facility very close to Portsmouth/Norfolk. I will be sure to return when I come back to the area.
