I feel it's worth leaving a review since we've ordered in and ordered take out. The actual restaurant is an intimate, cute, and clean setup. I was actually shocked to walk into the back to see a small restaurant that would allow you to eat inside, but nonetheless my husband and I ordered and sat. Service was attentive, fast, and very accommodating. We tried lengua tacos, Al pastor tacos, and a carne asada torta. We like that this restaurant serves pico de gallo with their tacos here, and their salsas were delicious. Hands down one of the best tortas I've had here in Newport News. The lengua tacos are steamed and flavorful, and Al pastor tacos are really great too. Small store, but packs a punch in flavor. Worth giving a shot in my humble opinion.

To write "surprised" would be an understatement. It was a Tuesday, so clearly, tacos were in order. No, not Taco Bell type stuff, but some authentic tacos. So, off I drove aimlessly in search of something to satiate my desire. Whoa... what is this, I thought, as I drove by this little place. In I swung. Confused I was as I walked in. It's a Mexican little market, if you will, with a restaurant counter in the back. As I approached the counter, it was deader than a door nail. I asked, is the restaurant still open? Yes, a girl kind of mumbled and nodded in response. English? Not so much. Food? Oh yeah! I was hungry, and in true fat man nature ordered more than I needed. A la cart, a taco. It was dry and lame... sorry, but it was, and it was nowhere near worth five bucks. However, the flautas (taquitos)? O. M. G! Amazing! Topped with fresh avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream and what I believe was Parmesan cheese. It was a huge portion, absolutely delicious, and despite the awkward language barrier? I am so going back for more of those. And, so should you if you're after something on the authentic side. Cheers!

This is a tiny little hole in the wall grocery/restaurant. We went because we had received a Restaurant.com certificate to try it out. It definitely reminded me of the little Mexican hole-in-the-wall places I visited when I was down there. As in service is very slow and you have to constantly ask for things. The food was ok - we had a quesadilla (alright, very greasy) and several tacos. The tacos were legit! And only $2 each, made fresh. I'd go back to grab a quick one if I found myself in the area. If you got the Restaurant.com certificate, be warned - the owner claims he did not sign up for that and didn't want to honor it. I negotiated with him and reported it to Restaurant.com too.

Awesome little hole in the wall restaurant. Everything here is amazing. Hidden at the back of small grocery store, this place is gem. I've tried almost the entire menu and I love everything.

I've been to about four Mexican restaurants here in Warwick area... this is by far the most authentic... which means if you don't speak Spanish, you'll have to point at the menu a little... but don't worry, it's well worth it. Yeah, they may play Spanish rock a little loud in the tienda (store) but that's ok. You're actually in a family run place, just another reason u know ur in for the real deal.

Great little place. Tacos are awesome! Tortillas are made to order. They have lengua, cabeza, al pastor, carne and pollo and fresh pico. Tortas and everything else. It helps to speak some Spanish to order but that's why there's smartphones with translators.

Not your fancy schmancy place so if you're in the hunt for one this is not your place. If you're feeling adventurous its a must try. Delicious authentic Mexican food. A must try if you're in for the real deal. I had some tamales and tacos that made my stomach full with happiness.

I consider this place like a mom and pop store with a small kitchen in the back area. I would have given them 5 stars but due to the unusual small serving of rice and beans, they get 4. The food otherwise was authentic for sure. My bf and I had the carne asada entree's and a taco. My bf in his own words about the tacos in particular was, " they were on point"!
