Since both of my parents have passed away and could not be with me on my special day, I had the idea to have their wedding bands fused together to create my own. I was so excited to make this idea a reality. I went to Eclectic Jewelry in Elizabeth City because she was the only jeweler in town that could work on my ring without sending it out of the store. At first she seemed up to the challenge, however, the experienced that followed showed otherwise. I've been haunted for months with how things were done and I feel like this could help someone in the future. I went in to speak with her, she sized my finger, and told me it should be ready in two weeks. It took a little longer but I was ok with it. When she finally reached out to me, I went it and the ring didn't fit. I was so let down and upset. She stated the ring didn't fit because my father's band was thicker than my mothers and she would be willing to fix it at an additional price. I was absolutely baffled at her response. Being an "experienced" jeweler, this should have been taken into consideration when the ring was being fused and sized. This was just the half of it. Understandably so, I was very upset about this. I asked her where the remaining Gold from my fathers band was and she stated "it wasn't that much, worth only a few dollars and didn't save it". Again I was left BAFFLED! I don't care if it was 5 dollars worth, it was the only thing I had left of my parents. The gold could have been put in a capsule to wear around my neck. She showed no compassion or remorse for the situation, completely heartless. She ended up not charging me for the fix but I still can't wear the ring. It's $400 later and I have a ring I can't wear, even after "resizing" it. I sent my husband to pick the ring up the second time because of the anger in my heart. This is possibly one of the worse experiences of my life. For months I've thought about this and have finally decided to speak out about it. I highly suggest no one use her for custom work.

They are very helpful. They helped me find my wedding ring here when no one else had it and for a steal too. They are always polite when I go into their store to look. They have a range of items in there to sell, between rings and necklaces to actual silver bullets and coin collections they really know their stuff.
