Great staff, great food, and a great golf course for the money. They can use a little maintenance or concrete for the cart paths, but overall this past summer was great!

Love the first tee program offered at this location. Coach Chris is really good with the children and he continues to dedicate 100 percent to developing good sporting ethics. Highly recommended program and enjoyed watching him do his work. There are different programs depending on skill level for the kids. First tee is for beginners.

Eagle Creek Golf Club is the most relaxed and down to earth golfing experience around here. It is a real escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy cities surrounding Moyock. The crew working the grille and golf side are very friendly and personable. Whenever my husband and I need time to unwind we find Eagle Creek to be the perfect place to rent a cart and go golfing for a day.

This was my first time to this golf course. Mary at the pro shop was very nice and helpful. The golf carts seemed brand new and were very clean. The course itself was in great shape, immaculate tee boxes and fairways were well kept. My only issue was with the greens, or lack there off. There was literally no grass on the greens. It was compressed dirt with some sprouting grass here and there. It would have been nice to have known about it prior to going out, sort of put a bad taste in my mouth throughout my round. With that aside, it was a nice time and I'll probably go back out, hopefully when the greens are grown in.

First time and only time here. Drove almost a hour to get there and it wasn't worth it. The greens were not cut. Asked about it and they said they were letting them grow out before winter. The rough was like six inches deep. Could not find a couple ball. Awful course. I'm from Hampton, VA.

I've only been here once but I was very impressed in how it has changed from it's previous owners. The food came out timely and was delicious, portion sizes were larger than I expected and I left full. There is a full bar as well as kitchen there so drinks and food available. Several TVs in the area to watch games and the staff is very nice.

Came across Eagle Creek while looking for a different place to play than our typical Chesapeake / Virginia Beach courses. After speaking with some past golfers I was hesitant but since it was under new ownership my wife and I thought we'd give it a try. Although it's making a "slow" turn around the good news is it does seem to be going in the right direction.Along with reopening the course and hiring new staff the owners committed to building of an event hall next to the clubhouse. One can hope some of the additional revenue generated from this venue will be put back into the course? That said here's my opinion of what Eagle Creek has to offer at this point and time. A fair to good course for the beginning to average golfer who enjoys the long drive and can handle the effects the wind can have on ball. However, if you can't hit it straight (or at least somewhat straight) you're going to need to bring some extra balls because the grass surrounding the fairways and greens can be thick, and can gobble those balls up. Clubhouse: Nice clubhouse with a restaurant next to the pro-shop. - Pro-shop: Dan just recently took over when we came to visit. We found him to be very informative, friendly and professional. He's vocal commitment to turning the course around is a definite reason why we'll be returning.- Restaurant: Good people offering good food and decent drink prices for a pretty good meal. That said, the wait for it may take some time. It seemed obvious to me that whoever runs the restaurant either hasn't spent anytime in the food service industry or hasn't done well at it. I'm hoping over time they'll get the efficiency thing down and give us a reason to stay for a post-game drink and meal among friends.Ranges:- Driving: The driving range is grass and mats, which allows to tee up at the height I play on the course. The distances are clearly marked helping to get a better understanding on effect the wind has on the ball before getting out on the course. A bucket of balls range in both price and size and are purchased from the pro-shop. Although, I can't remember the exact amount it was more than affordable so no worries there. - Putting: This practice area was small with only flag markers verses holes but the golf pro Dan who runs the shop said they were changing that in a matter of days so it should be good the next time we go.- Chipping: Nothing, nada, zip. Need to think about fixing that...hint, hint.Equipment: We didn't rent any clubs so can't comment there but they do have good quality carts.Course: - Fairways: Fairly straight and long. Don't expect to see or walk some picturesque North Carolina course like you'll find around the Wilmington / Pine Hurst area. This is a cart only course that although it's improving is in need of continual grounds keeper loving for another year or two to get it competitive with Virginia Beach. The grass paralleling some of the fairways, especially the first hole is really thick and can cut distance off your short game should you be unluckily enough to digress from the fairway. I don't remember there being any slope to really contend with anywhere on the course or greens. Only a couple water hazards, which were quite simple to avoid...yet, I didn't LOL. The tee boxes were hodge-podge of being fairly well maintained to poor quality...again going to give it a little more time.- Greens: Moderate to large sized. I didn't notice any consistent speed of ball movement or dramatic breaks on any of the greens nor do I remember size and play of the aprons so have to get that on an update to this post.- Bunkers/Sand Traps: All fairly reasonable to avoid or get out of and onto the green. Overall: This is a good course at a pretty good price, great price compared to the rest of the Hampton Roads. Taking everything into consideration, the flat long fairway, lack of slope on the putting greens and no chipping area I'm giving it 2.5 Stars and rounding down due to it being a work in progress and not sure how committed the ownership is to making it what it should be (time will tell). However, I'll be back and I'm with the time under it's belt and the care of Dan the course will probably push it up to a 3 Star rating or perhaps more??? More to follow...

Wanted to hit a bucket of balls and practice some putting. Range balls not a bad deal. The range blows no real tagets some flags and range yardage markers. The putting green is a joke it's flat and a perfect oval, no real area to chip in the green did not even have holes you just aim to hit a flag. No bunker or anything for chipping no slope or breaks on the green..... after seeing that I did not want to even want to play the coure......

Food seems to be hit or miss. Pizzas never have enough toppings & chicken wings used to be big & plump. Now they are mostly bone & hardly any chicken. Service is absolutely terrible unless you are a regular patron. Come on guys...you can do better!!
