Drink Williamsburg

The tour guide was awesome, and I had a lot of fun. The only ding here is really more the fault of the places they take you (but also advertising). The tour website says tours, tastings, AND drinks are provided. The only place that really did that was a distillery. The rest gave either one beer or a tasting...and only the distillery did the tour. Still, this is fun and worthwhile for a three-and-a-half hour experience.

This was a fun and educational tour. Our bus driver, Brian, was awesome! All the tours were enjoyable.The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is "drink williamsburg" sounds like a party bus, but it's not. It's a sampling tour. However it was educational and interesting to see places I would have never otherwise been to.There are different routes, and the route we did included a meadery (honey and mead tasting), two rum/gin/whiskey stops and a brewery. I inquired about skipping one of the rum establishments and going to both breweries (other routes had this option), but I was told that people booked and were expecting the route with only one brewery. I told them I was in that group, but they never responded. Turns out the only other people (2) on the tour were asked to switch to the afternoon tour because no one else had booked the evening tour. (The evening tour was the route with two breweries). So there was no reason, with the justification provided, why would couldn't have done two breweries. The liquor tasting is not enjoyable, way too strong. The establishments, especially the Copper Fox Distillery was interesting and a wonderful tour of the grounds was provided. The downside with that place was when it came time for sampling we were told you could either sample the products or get a mixed drink. I chose mixed drink, because it is much easier to drink than straight liquor. But when it came time to pay (I bought more than the sample provided), I was told that wasn't part of the tour, it's either sample the straight liquor or nothing. So I felt mislead and had to pay an additional $9 that I was no expecting.The brewery we did stop at did not provide a tour, but they did provide a flight of four beers for each person on the tour. This was completely ok with the group as we were more interested in drinking than touring.

Extremely poor customer service. Booked a tour with them a week or so before a trip I had planned to the Williamsburg area, but then received an email the day before my tour telling me just that my tour was cancelled and asking if I could make a different date a few days later instead. Unsurprisingly, my trip to the area will be over by the alternate date offered. I attempted multiple times throughout the day to contact them and ask about other options, dates, or suggestions, but was unable to get any contact despite multiple calls and email attempts. Do yourself a favor and don't book with this company unless you want to have your plans cancelled on you one day ahead of time by a company that refuses to talk to it's customers.

We had a great time on Drink Williamsburg! LaTroy was the best driver, entertaining, kind, funny and helpful. He made our experience even better than we imagined.Everyone at each stop was welcoming, patient and knew their product so well. It was so interesting learning how the alcohols were made and packaged.

Amazing value and the best tour guide and driver ever! Maris connected to each guest individually and made us feel special. Tom the driver was also great and knowledgeable. We will definitely tell a friend or 3!

Friends came in from out of town, so we arranged for the tour. It was affordable and from the start we were greeted by our friendly guide and our driver. Each stop was informative and enlightening. Further, D.W. provided additional information and they were very flexible with the time at each stop. It was a great experience and we plan to do it again.

I was very excited for this tour because of the fabulous reviews and how people seemed to enjoy the tour, drivers and locations. Unfortunately, it seems that this particular tour was amazing before COVID, but they haven't been able to adapt accordingly. We were told that the tour included 3-4 stops and they would provide transportation between the stops, sounds good. The transportation ended up being Lyft rides, again, sounds good due to COVID and we were appreciative. The problem began with our meet up spot. We were given a location that would start the tour, we get there and meet another couple that is there for the tour. We get to talking and have great conversation, we're super excited. Then we get the notifications about our Lyft rides. They were supposed to pick us up at 12:50 PM and drop us off at our first location by 1 PM. We didn't even get the confirmation for our Lyft until 1 PM and the other couple had a completely different driver with a completely different time frame. At 1:15 PM we decided to contact drink Williamsburg to see what was going on, no answer. Our Lyft was still 10 minutes away and the other couples Lyft canceled on them and weren't expected to be picked up until 1:35 PM. The tour specifically stated that we would have about an hour at each location, the times being 1-1:50 PM, 2-2:50 PM and 3-3:50PM. At this point we're nervous we'll miss an entire tour, so both couples email drink Williamsburg to inform them that we're gonna just drive to the next spot and hopefully the Lyfts will be better coordinated. My boyfriend decided to play DD (which was the purpose of the Lyfts) for myself and the other couple. We arrived to our first stop and it was a bit awkward since we had no host and essentially had to say "Hey, we're with this tour group and are supposed to be getting a tasting here." The establishment was great at explaining their menu and the specific options we had to choose from, but it was ruined because around 1:30 PM both of the couples started receiving calls and texts from Lyft drivers saying they were here to pick us up from our meet up location so we had to explain that the ride needed to be cancelled and apologized for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, because Drink Williamsburg scheduled the lyfts, we were unable to cancel and new Lyfts kept getting sent to us. We couldn't get ahold of Drink Williamsburg, so not only we're we constantly having to figure out our Lyfts, but Lyft drivers were driving around trying to pick us up/drop us off at locations we weren't at. This repeatedly happened at all locations and became quite stressful. We didn't arrive at our last destination until 4:30 PM when we should have been there at 2:50 PM. Oh, also, they DID have an app that would have an audio tour BUT you had to pay additional money for it. Not only did we not get what we paid for (transportation and tour), but we had additional stress with dealing with mismanaged Lyfts and Drink Williamsburg couldn't bother to respond to our messages. Both couples were extremely disappointed with this tour and would greatly appreciate someone reaching out to us. Let me also be crystal clear with saying that the three stops we were at - Copper Fox, Brass Cannon and Joker Brewing were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They were courteous, had great flights and explained their product thoroughly. We have absolutely no issue with the drinks/locations that we attended. We were disappointed with the original tour/service that we had paid for - Drink Williamsburg.

We were visiting with family and decided to take the Drink Williamsburg tour and we are glad we did. They picked us up right at our resort and because it was a Tuesday we were only able to visit 3 locations. Each was different and interesting we had a blast and our driver recommended a great restaurant for our dinner and even stopped in to make sure they were taking good care of us. Great time.

This is a mixed review, our driver Brian was great. He had some stories and kept us on time but did not hurry us along. He was always close by if we needed something or had general questions. The reason for only 3 stars may be more the fault of the places we stopped but out of the 4 stops (Meadery, distillery and two micro breweries) the only tour was the distillery. This is misleading infomation that Drink Williamsburg advertised, they say price includes drinks, tours and transportation. The Meadery did a good job on educating us on Mead but the two breweries did nothing but pour the samples. I would say if you really want a tour of the places you may be better to plan your own path but if you are looking for a quick veiw of a couple of the local spots this is not a bad way to go, it is a bit overpriced as well but they are just trying to make a living as well.

My husband and I took this tour. Was very nice. Places were great, something different than wineries and breweries...and we had a fun group! Our driver Brian was great too!
