This delightful coffee shop in Corolla is a hot spot for your next morning coffee. As you walk in the door the smell of well roasted coffee provides your first wake up call. In addition to coffee, they offer a variety of pastries and breakfast items. They have beautiful coffee mugs for sale and jewelry from local jewelers. Be sure to check it out next time your are in the northern OBX!

YAY! ANOTHER INDIE COFFEE SHOP IN (South) COROLLA!!!We discovered this shop during a recent OBX trip - on the same trip we discovered The Kind Cup coincidentally. Then I read on Driftwood's website that their beans are locally roasted by The Kind Cup! I love it when local businesses support each other - there is PLENTY of business to go around and keep you going in the Outer Banks if you put out good quality product at a decent price. Driftwood Coffee fits the bill.We arrived on a Saturday around 1130AM during busy season on a beautiful bright blue sunny day. And there was nobody there! Probably because they were closing soon. They open super early (nice!) but wish they could stay open a tad longer into the afternoon for those of us that are late risers or like to lallygag the morning away...We chatted up the owner and found out her shop is relatively new (this is their 2nd season in business). She's been local to the area for many many years, raising her kids at the beach. A very sweet, friendly, enterprising lady. Our party of 4 ordered just coffee drinks - check out my menu pic - the usual drink offerings, hot and cold, with only a couple specialty flavors (hoping in the future more will be added!). Everything we ordered was bold, well made and tasty. No weak, wimpy coffee served here. We took a load off for a bit and sat inside, out of the heat - there are a few comfy seats scattered about the shop (and in less sweltering weather, a couple picnic tables right outside next to a beautiful sunflower / flower garden). The shop is neat and clean and inviting with a beachy vibe and decor. Driftwood is in the small tucked-away shopping center right behind the Visitor's Center and across Ocean Blvd (the main drag) from the Corolla public beach access parking area. So, in that sense, it's conveniently located if you're on the beach and have an impromptu hankerin' for a coffee or iced latte - it's a very short walk from the beach across Ocean (there's a major cross walk right there). Also a nice easy stroll for renters in the south part of the Currituck Club gated community - no need to jump in a car and drive to find decent indie coffee. The shop still seems to be getting its sea legs (pun intended!) in a location that isn't visible from the road so hopefully reviews like this one will help spread the word because there haven't been many indie coffee spots north of Duck and who wants to go to a Starbucks in a Harris Teeter when you're on a beach vacay anyway amiright?! :)Sending good vibes and best wishes to Driftwood Coffee as an independent small business AND a coffee shop all rolled into one. To the risk takers go the spoils - YOLO. HIGHLY RECOMMEND (even though (hopefully) it means I will experience long lines next time I visit!)!(BTW, LOVE Kind Cup which is a bit further North in the Corolla historic village area - a must-see area while you're visiting. Read my review.)

This coffee shop is tucked back in a shopping center near the rental home where we are staying in Corolla. Location is very convenient but if it weren't for a sign on the main road pointing "coffee" I would drive by and miss this place. (It's not visible from the road.)Cute interior, with some comfy chairs and a few tables. There are a few seats outside as well. In addition to the coffee and food Opperm mugs, there was a case of jewelry inside, with some jewelry for sale. And some cute coffee shop mugs with perfectly-sized handles, really wanted one but didn't want to spend $38, the price for one mug.I ordered a cappuccino with an extra shot of espresso. It was the perfect temp and tasted great. Service was quick... there were a few customers in the shop when we arrived, and others walking in as we were leaving.

Good local coffee! A little pricey compared to other places I have been but the granola bars were very good and friendly staff!

I did not get coffee so this review has nothing to do with the actual product. I was waiting to order and noticed the person making the beverages running his hands through his long hair while making drinks. It happened twice with no hand washing so I bailed and drove to Duck for coffee since it was a Sunday.

LOVE Driftwood coffee. tried it today for the first time with my sister and it was fantastic. I got a chai latte and it was wayyyy better than a Starbucks chai tea latte. I also bought some protein bars (my faves!!). they have super yummy looking baked goods as well :)

All of the coffee our party ordered was good and the staff were polite and friendly. Best coffee we had in Corolla. Will definitely be back. They did fix some locals drinks that ordered behind us first which wasn't a big deal since we were not in a hurry but a friendly do you mind would have been nice.

Nice place. Was planning on going to Tree House but decided on here due to it being closer. Coffee was good and atmosphere was relaxing. Plan to come again...Also - it was kinda tucked away but Maps took us right to it.
