We sailed the boat down with some other members of our club. The HPP was easy to find and easy to get in/out of. We radioed in at a certain buoy as per the instructions and someone met at the dock to help us with our lines.HPP has floating piers, which means the boat will always be at just the right level for getting off/on, no matter if it is high or low tide. The facilities are fairly nice as well. Free wi-fi, showers/bathhouse, power hook-up. Good rates, too.Because HPP is located right by the Crown Plaza Hotel, there may be some activity depending on the night you are there. So you may want to bring in your boat bow-first for privacy and a bit of quiet.

Downtown Hampton Public Piers is an example of what a municipal marina should be. In first rate repair, all the power and water works, easy access on foot to a restaurant row (don't miss the Grey Goose!), clean bathhouse, and friendly staff. First rate WiFi.Enterprise rental car is steps away. It can be hard to track down staff members. Calling works better than walking up to the office. Ducks mean the docks could do with hosing off more frequently.
