Don's Seafood Restaurant

Amazing local spot. I sat at the bar upstairs and had a beer with the seafood dream. That dish was amazing. Cool vibes and everyone was super friendly to an outsider. The service was spot on also.

3.5 rating overall, not 4. Arrived and were told there as a 90 min wait to eat inside. They have a new covered dining area and bar set-up outdoors across the lot on the waters edge. So we wandered over there. They serve what is called picnic style. Food comes out in paper containers in a paper bag with plastic ware (just like take out). Soup and salad are not offered there. Service was casual and on the slower side which was fine for us. Not a place to come if you're in a hurry to eat right away. The views are gorgeous. Meagan worked hard and was attentive, patient with our questions and pleasant. She waited most, if not all of the tables, ran the food from the restaurant to outside, made my friends drink etc. Friend ordered soft shell crabs, hush puppies and green beans. I ordered fresh fish of the day which was flounder stuffed w crabmeat and the same sides. The meal was tasty--broiled flounder w crab mix was tender and moist, hush puppies perfection and string beans were clearly canned with pork added. Friend enjoyed the soft shelled crabs.

The food was good but they use small square plates now and your food falls off on the table and floor. Hope they reconsider.

We had a GREAT time at Don's!! our server Steve was super nice and trivia was so so much fun with DJ YK. The food was very good as well, order the special! we loved Don's!

We ate upstairs at Chattie's lounge and watched football on the TVs. Ordered the fried seafood dinner and it was outstanding. The rockfish was huge. Tons of food...couldn't even eat half. Wife had the roast beef and it was great. Friendly service. Decent prices.

We like to sit at the bar out back - called Don's Daughter. Friendly wait staff and always friendly people at the bar! Fantastic sunset views. If you order food, it will come in take-out boxes from the main restaurant. On our recent visit we got the mixed steamer platter - shrimp, crab legs, clams, corn on the cob and potatoes. It was great!

Superb! The place was cozy and clean. The service was personable and hospitable. The food was divine a seafood lover's dream come true. The crab dip is impeccable. I enjoyed mine on top of the 'smothered toasties' OMG! Drool worthy. The stuffed fish was truly stuffed, overflowing with seafood, as was the stuffed shrimp. I will definitely be back. Chincoteague is a gem of a town and Don's is a culinary delight therein.

I had dinner in the bar area. Service was great and I was able to watch the game. I had fried shrimp which was large and tasty. Drinks were good as well.

Service and food, GREAT. I had shrimp and scallops fettuccine and my with has seafood dream. Both were great, but order the smaller portions. Ended up taking some home which is not bad.

Don't go upstairs without hearing protection after 8 on a Saturday. The hostess told us the lounge was kid friendly and when we arrived it was. Music was a normal volume. After we ordered but before we got our food a dj showed up and started blasting music like it was a club. It was painfully loud. If we had known we would have chosen to wait for a table downstairs instead of going upstairs. Just one little hey, it's kid friendly but a dj is going to show up would have changed our entire experience. For what it's worth the food was tasty and the service was good.
