Straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie, the Williamsburg Liberty ice skating rink is a fun surprise. While it's not 18th century nor what you would expect to see in Colonial Williamsburg, individuals and families really have a good time here. Many of the holiday skaters are visiting Williamsburg, though during the week and in January and February, I've seen many locals enjoying the ice. You can bring your own skates or rent them. Rates are pricey, but it's the only rink in town. If you're local or visit often, they offer season passes too. Enjoy!

Tiny rink very expensive with domineering teenagers yelling at you to follow rules that aren't posted anywhere. Not equipped to handle large crowds. Buy tickets first, then get your skates. Tickets are non refundable even if they don't have your size skate available.Save yourself the hassle.

The skating rink has too many rules. If you have a child that needs a skate assist, then you need to stand in a line for one, and when the time comes, you have to give your ID (!) in exchange for the badge with a number that corresponds to the number on the skate assist. They have a separate person who oversees the line. Because it's so hard to get one, people are holding on to their assists for a long time and parents are just standing in line instead of enjoying their time at the rink. You can't also use your cellphone while at the rink. Let people be! Leave all of the skating assists inside the rink and be first come first serve! Let people enjoy their experience, not go through a long bureaucratic process in order to SKATE!

I've always wanted to live in a town that has an outdoor ice skating rink. This rink opened up in late November and it will be up through the month of February. They offer season passes, so my husband & I got one for our daughter. She has her own pair of ice skates, so now she can skate as often as she'd like. The rink is not very big, but it's good enough and my daughter enjoys it very much! If it's warm outside, the ice will melt a bit and the ice is more slippery. On colder weekend nights, they have a fire pits going close to the rink, so you can sit and socialize by the roaring flames. If you plan to skate more often + have you own ice skates, get a season pass because it's worth it! Also, they are open everyday and open until 10pm on weekends. Lastly, if you have a CW annual pass, volunteer or employee, there are admission discounts M-F. Enjoy this while it lasts!

I think maybe this is an elaborate practical joke on Williamsburgers and the tourists visiting throughout the winter. For reals, how does this sound?-nearly 20$ to get in (with skates)-a "rink" so small you can barely skate two or three skaters wide.-terrible ice, complete with massive ravines alone the boards-ill fitting skates that are not properly sharpened-3$ water and mediocre snacks. Not interested? Huh, imagine that. The folks are friendly and location convenient, otherwise this would be a one star review.Avoid this highway robbery and drive 20 minutes down the road to the Iceplex. Liberty Ice is insulting.

The ice rink is great! The staff was very helpful when my son needed a switch on his skate rentals. The ice was in perfect condition. Great rink! Highly recommend!

This might be good money maker for the tourists, but as a local this is horrible. The pricing is outrageous for a family, the rink is tiny and after being there for an hour I was then told I had to put a mask on. I will never return, this is an outside rink and shouldn't be required to to wear a mask while outside.

It's a small rink, but still wonderful! I recommend going when it first opens so it won't be busy. Also, it is a bit expensive, but if you have skates, you won't have to pay the skate rental fee (obviously). It's in a perfect location and I definitely recommend trying it out!
