Manager and housekeeper went above and beyond on our recent visit. Hotel is in a great location near delicious restaurants and outstanding views. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Will absolutely stay at Dockside if I'm ever in the area again. Thanks Chris and Toni!

The best part of the Dockside Inn is the owner is a Republican and he has a picture of George Bush in the lobby.....If you are going to arrive late call ahead and they will assign you a room, leave the key in the room on the bed as well as the heat on for you and you can pay them in the morning. "Now, that's service!" It's clean and very handy for boaters in the Deltaville Area who want to work on their boats in the cold winter months.

Let me begin by saying this is the only motel within an hour of Deltaville. And if you're Yelping accommodations in this area then (like us) you're not from around these parts, are ya? No. So you won't know that the locals call it "the Darkside Inn." Not sure if that is just being mean about its upkeep or the people lodging here or the folks who own it or something more sinister. Regardless. Did I say it is the only place to stay in the nearby area? :) if you're on the water in D-vile and don't want to drive an hour to sleep the night, this is your only option. So let me get to it. This is not luxurious or even "nice" by American business traveler standards. But it will beat sleeping outdoors and getting eaten alive by mosquitos on a muggy night. Or sleeping in your car and suffocating to death because you can't keep the windows down because of said mosquitos.Pros: No bugs of any kind in room. The bed and bath linens were crisp white, and all usable surfaces were clean. Comfy and fresh pillows. The management and staff are very friendly. Free and speedy wireless. TV older but worked fine. In-room as well as lobby coffee are both free. Water cooler in lobby so you can fill your bottles. Air conditioning unit worked well! Cons: Heavy smoke smell even in the allegedly nonsmoking rooms, and VERY dilapidated furniture that ought to have been replaced about 25 years ago.. Beds OK comfy but mattresses pretty worn. Stove hoods from when the rooms must have had kitchenettes were still intact but now a microwave and mini-fridge are where the stove used to be. Carpet not well-vacuumed. Window did not open. (Pool wasn't open yet when we stayed mid-May.Beware the hard water - the taste will freak out city slickers when tooth brushing or coffee making. Use the bottled water in lobby is my suggestion to avoid the unpleasant taste. We paid $70 a night in mid-May, but again, price kind of doesn't matter, because, in case I didn't mention it, it's the only nearby hotel. And it will do for a night's rest and a shower and a cup of coffee to get your day going.

Dockside Inn cancelled my reservation after I would not agree to have them bill me a week in advance for a one night stay. Their payment policy states the balance in full is due the day before check in. Chris is a crook. Avoid at all costs. Thank you.

I have stayed here a couple of times over the years and this was the worst experience I have had at any hotel. Typically I come off season to see my family. The posted rate was $120 then jumped to $150 when I booked. Okay, it was close to my family so whatever. The room was freezing and the heater couldn't keep up because the door has a gap all the way around it and cold air was pouring in. The only staff I saw was in the parking lot smoking and drinking beer. The walls are paper thin and It sounded like the guests next door were in my room between conversations and snoring. I got almost no sleep. Won't be back. A 30 minute drive to White Stone or Gloucester is preferable.

2019 REVIEW!! Clean, Great Service, Friendly Staff!!The new owners of the Dockside have changed the hotel ENTIRELY. Ignore any reviews prior to 2019!! Completely renovated exterior and interior, new furniture, landscaping, website, everything is BRAND NEW. There has been a lack of a decent hotel in Deltaville for years and now this puts the town back on the map. My wife and I stayed recently and we found the staff very accommodating and the rooms extremely clean. Tastefully decorated decors and comfortable beds. This venue will be a welcomed addition to the Deltaville community, marinas, and nearby businesses. 5 STAR! Would definitely stay again.

It was awful. The rudest staff member I have ever encountered. I'm not surprised they don't allow posts on their FB page -- they obviously know they would get slammed. True story:I am a single mom with two girls under five. I decided to surprise them with a quick trip to the beach. I entered all my info on Airbnb appropriately, and never lied about the number of people in the room. Well - Chris - the woman who unfortunately runs the place - threatened to kick me out for exceeding the room max and not getting two rooms - like I'm going to leave a kid under five alone in a room. She gave me a bad review on Airbnb for the room occupancy. Then she bitched that we stayed at a beach hotel and got sand on the floor. And it wasn't much. I know, because I went out of my way to clean up any sand I could find. But this person - Chris - was rude to me on the phone when I requested another towel (so I could clean the floor), threatened to kick me out for her mistake, and then blasted me on Airbnb so I would get a poor review. Who takes the time to do that? You want to put money in the pocket of someone who treats guests like that - I sure don't. Please don't give this place any business. You never know what she's going to attack you on once you get there.
