I'm not german but Ive had my share of german food in numerous places I've even experienced home cooked german food that was delicious. This particular restaurant failed severely in all aspects. One of my favorite dishes is Rouladen and this example was a failure. The bgg eef was overcooked, dry and fairly tasteless. Red cabbage also was included and it was not fresh, hardly any seasoning and cold. There were two ice cream scoops of something that may have been mashed potatoes, I'm still not sure. Still no taste. I refused to eat my meal and talked with the 'chef' voicing my opinion I asked for b their weiner plate with a side of german potato salad. The dogs were not of the highest quality; one ) bratwurst, and two other weiners. What really was the last straw was the potato salad. I asked for it to be heated and was presented with a serving of potato salad right out of the fridge. Again, it tasted like nothing like german potato salad. No vinegar, no bacon and I couldn't find any onions. The place was PACKED and they almost refused service but we managed a table for four. There was ONE server for the entire pla c e and another h elder taking drink orders. I definitely will not return.

We are so excited to have a German restaurant back in our area and this will definitely be going into our regular rotation of places to visit. The restaurant is located in Stoney Brook Shopping Center. There is a takeout counter when you walk in and seating on two sides of the restaurant. The side with the take out counter had a few high top tables for 2 and some 4 tips. The other side has a few dinette square booth type tables with a bench seat for 2. There was another large table that probably sat 8. There were 4 tables with booth seats against the wall with seats with backs. Each table had a divider wall to give you some privacy. The restaurant was decorated with different flags and pictures. The staff is family run with two daughters at the front and mom and dad in the back. Mom is from Germany and came out to speak to a table who wanted to speak in German. They had soft drinks and tea and offers sourdough bread while we waited for our food. Our food took a little bit but we didn't mind. Our waitress is a free soup for our wait but we declined. My husband had the Jager Schnitzel and the pork was so tender and juicy. It was served with potato dumplings and red cabbage. I had the Wurst Platte that had a side salad, German potato salad and 3 sausages. One was a German hot dog, bratwurst like and a sausage that had great flavor and was juicy. It may have had a bit of cheese in it. They offered cheesecake, German chocolate cake and Black Forest cake in the display case at the checkout counter. I got my Black Forest cake to go.

I've been looking for a good German restaurant in the area for a long time. I've been to all of them in the past and none met my expectations, until I decide to try the fairly new Deutshe Ecke. They serve authentic German food, and it's cooked just like they do in Germany. The atmosphere is casual and the staff are friendly and prompt. As someone who lived in Germany for 14 years I can honestly say you will not be disappointed having a casual dinner at this establishment. The price is reasonable and the menu has many items to choose from. I highly recommend them, just wish they were open at lunchtime.

Drove from Chesapeake & was anxious to try, as other then The Bier Garten in P-town, no other German restaurants around. Atmosphere ok. Service pleasant. Goulash soup had more of a Dinty Moore stew taste. Bread good. Side salad nice & fresh w/a light vinegarette. Saurbraten odd flavor. Schnitzel was small & not crispy. Cabbage had ok flavor, but mushy from simmering to long. Potato dumplings were more of a mashed potato ball. Decided to pass on dessert. Guessing no alcohol license yet.
