Demaria's Seafood

From Cali and new to area. This will definitely be my go to spot for seafood. Staff was really nice as well. I infused some olive oil with a habanero pepper, purple onion, thyme, lemon rind, and ginger. I julienned a red and orange pepper added some scallions and created a bed of veggies so all the juices from the fish could soak up all the goodness. Also I used the remaining olive oil and cut up some cilantro, scallions, and lemon juice and use that as a dipping sauce.

Ever walk in to a place and it smells so bad that you're scared to order anything? That's this place.We went in looking for specialty meat to make a Cajun dish. Typically, we have to drive 50 miles out of our way to find boudin so we were happy to discover that they sold it here.Unfortunately, it's imported. We wrongly assumed that this being a meat shop that they would package their own goods.We are back to driving to our butcher across the bay who packages their own boudin.The service was not good either. One server completely ignored us and the other one very clearly didn't want to be there or work.

Great place for all seafood!! Always fresh and reasonably priced. Great choices as well.

I stopped going to Demarias for almost 2 years cause quite honestly its just too expensive and I have found decent seafood at Harris teeter and trader Joe's for less.Anyhoo plans to go to a seafood restaurant in Virginia Beach fell thur yesterday so I ventured out for seafood. I remembered the owner had told me a while back they got their seafood from Maine and I was craving that sweet new England tasting lobster but I didn't get it. I used to buy their mussels all the time but then half of them were empty so I skipped that. I got a lobster and a half pound of shrimp. Neither was good and the lobster was very small at my request but still double the price of the grocery store. Very disappointed...

I went specifically here yesterday (09/07/2023, to get fresh whiting,... simply some of the best most fresh whiting in a longgggg time! THANKS

We decided to stop by this place after visiting the Living Museum and I gotta say this place has affordable prices and not to mention, great customer service. I was just gonna buy oysters for my sister, but the sight of their fishes was too enticing. The cashier recommended the barracuda and I forgot what the other one was called. He said: "They're so good. All you have to do is cook em', eat em', and take a nap." He also offered extra ice for the 1 hr 30 mins drive home so the truck won't smell like fish. My sister baked them and came out crunchy. Better than deep fried.

Omg!!!!! I was driving all around and finally remembers DEMARIAS! They always have great raw seafood and tons of choices. The lump crab meat was cheaper than any grocery store I've every purchased from. They had shad roe, calms , oysters gigantic lobsters , live lobster plus seasoning to dress a home made seafood meal!!!!

So many good things to say about this place it's tucked off of an Warwick boulevard in Newport News. I have been coming to Demaria's for years and they always have whatever I am looking for. Seafood always fresh and plenty to choose from such as Alligator meat or Crawfish tails and a large variety of fish and shrimp. They have some local oysters and a lobster tank every time I go in there I feel like a kid in a candy store. They have excellent customer service and they can steer you in the right direction far as how you should cook your food.

Two days in the hospital with food poisoning from bad clams. Four days of feeling terrible dehydrated and sick as a dog. I will never buy from them again. I have never been so sick in my life! Beware!!!

Never had a problem until this weekend, July 4th, 2021. Contacted store and management/owners were wonderful. The daughter quickly and correctly fixed my problem to my satisfaction with no issues.Customer satisfaction means a lot and at Demaria's they care about their customers.If you are looking for great seafood, I highly recommend Demaria's Seafood.Leroy jJuly 7, 2021
