Deja New

My family goes to the OBX for summer vacation every year. We always find time to do a family craft - we've done so many things - pottery, painted ceramics, wine & paint, jewelry, tie-dye but this mixed media was - By. Far. Our. FAVORITE! It was so much fun, perfect for all levels of creativity/skill, and the instructor/owner was delightful. I changed my mind on my project shortly after beginning & asked if I could do a different design, offering to pay for the supplies I'd used. She was fabulous, gracious, & generous. Another aspect of her teaching style that I really appreciated was that she would help as much or as little as a student wanted. If we had done this craft earlier in the week, we all agreed that we would have gone back again, there were so many cool designs and it was so much fun. If I could give 10 stars I would.

When you walk into this shop you automatically smile and any stress you have stays outside. Donna is an amazing teacher and creative soul. Very accommodating and friendly. Her talents surround you in this absolutely adorable shop. Working with mixed media, Donna guides you through the process of creating your own masterpiece. Rain or shine, beginner or advanced you will really enjoy taking a class. I'm looking forward to another soon.

Donna is a great instructor. She knows her line of business and shares her knowledge with you. Donna explains the process step by step then you reach for your paint brush to create your art work. Donna guides you and encourages you to choose the colors you are drawn to. You are never rushed. This is your time. Relax. The time slips away, stress rolls away as you paint, cut, glue your creative project. What a joyful moment that I will return to each visit on the Outer Banks.

Deja New was amazing! I was looking for a fun activity to give to my mom as a late Mother's Day present from my sisters and me. We go to Duck every year for family vacation so I was looking for something in the Outer Banks that would be a fun afternoon away. We hit the jackpot by going to a class at Deja New. Donna was responsive and helpful when I asked a few questions through Facebook Messenger. She was a delight on the phone and extremely accommodating. Her little studio is one of the happiest places with all of her artwork lining the walls and paint everywhere, including the doors and floors. The class itself was extremely fun! I've done a few of the "wine and paint" type classes, and this was so much better. There was more freedom to be creative, but Donna gave you structure, some tips, and encouraged along the way. I highly recommend Deja New as a stop during your trip to the OBX. I know that I'll be back!

Deja New place is a portal to finding joy this side of heaven! Donna is a gem and helps find the artist in everyone who takes one of her classes. This is a must try for anyone visiting the Outerbanks!

Amazing furniture store! This shop has small unique gifts, art, etc for everyone! They can also paint and repurpose your own furniture or there are always wonderful pieces for sale. Check the Facebook page for examples of the wonderful items or stop by!

We were casually shopping when the owner Donna told us about her mixed media classes, so glad we decided to do this. We made mermaids and Donna walked us through it step by step. Love this mother daughter shop. They have the neatest things. You can bring them anything and they can make it look wonderful. Great shop great people worth a visit!
