Dave's BBQ

I use Yelp to point me to good restaurants whenever I travel so it's no surprise that Dave's BBQ gets high marks from my visit. Another reason I chose Dave's is because it has free parking on site. This is important when in a beach resort area, as it's pay to park in many places. The food is very good with a good selection of sauces for your BBQ. The selections include pork, brisket, chicken and sausage. I had the pulled pork sandwich and upgraded to the combo meal (sandwich, 1 side and a drink) And I was surprised at the amount of food I received for $17 ! The drinks are self served, either sodas, lemonade and teas. The restaurant itself is a separate storefront, clean well maintained and nicely decorated... not the usual clutter. The service was fast, but I was also there at 2pm for lunch.

Ordered a pound of ribs and a pound of pulled chicken for Thanksgiving with baked beans and mac and cheese. The meats were fabulous, so were the beans and the mac was just OK For Christmas I bought the meats again and the pulled chicken (for my husband) was just as fabulous as last time. The ribs, however, were like briquettes, charred past crunchy to rock hard. I knew it when I touched them while removing them from the package but it was Christmas so I just tried to make the best of it and heat them in foil at a very low temp. I was so disappointed! Since this is just my second experience here I will give it another chance, but not without checking the product before I leave. This place is really clean, great service and the spicy sauce is so good. Just wish there was better quality control for the price.

Wednesday 8/14/2024I came across this spot with the help of Mr.chimetimes video on tik tok. I had planned on visiting this spot last year but never got the chance to do it so I'm back again and made sure visit.I made a takeout order over the phone and got a 3 meat plate of brisket, ribs, pulled pork with 2 sides: smoked baked beans and cornbread $19.50 and added a jalapeno cheddar link to my plate for an additional $4.50.The ordering process was nice and easy but by the time I had left with my food, I realized I was charged more ($4.50) for adding a sausage link to my plate than I originally should've been charged ($3 based on menu) but it didn't take away from the overall experience. - The Brisket was pretty good: it was nice & tender. I'd give it an 8/10 rating.- The Ribs were pretty good and flavorful. I'd give a 8.3/10 rating.- The Pulled pork was alright but it got a bit better with the addition of the bbq sauce. - The Smoked baked beans were very good: it has seasoning in it and a nice sweet bbq flavor.- The Cornbread was the weakest of all the items I tasted but it wasn't bad, just mid.- The Jalapeno sausage cheddar link was good and as rating a I'd give it around a 7/10.- Both bbq sauces are decent but I liked the sweet bbq sauce more than the spicy bbq sauce. Overall, I want to thank Mr.chimetime for putting me on to this spot and for Dave's bbq for serving great bbq. I would definitely return and recommend if you are in need of some good bbq.

This was honestly some of the best bbq I've ever had! We got brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausage and more. I was thoroughly impressed with every single item! And the customer service was absolutely fantastic and patient with this being our first time here. Absolutely will be coming back!

I used to visit Dave's BBQ when they were located at their previous location but I recently discovered their new location off of Laskin and definitely had to stop in.As I walked in, I was very impressed with how large the dining area was. It's wonderful to see such a deserving, local business grow from a small location with few seating to a restaurant style building. The staff were very friendly and assisted me with ordering. I decided on a Two Meat Platter and chose the Brisket and Ribs along with Potato Salad and Baked Beans. I was encouraged to try the Banana Pudding so I ordered that as well lol. The food is served as you order so there's no wait and everything was just as great as I remembered. The ribs were "fall off the bone" tender and the brisket was juicy and flavorful. The baked beans have always been my absolute favorite and the potato salad was savory and wonderful. All of the BBQ sauces were at each table so you could help yourself to as much as you want. The banana pudding was pretty good but I would have loved more bananas and cookies.I will forever recommend Dave's BBQ to anyone looking for a BBQ spot with great food and wonderful customer service. I am so happy that this place is still thriving! Definitely stop in and check them out!

Without a doubt - THE BEST BBQ IN THE 757. I've been coming here since before they moved to a larger location. It's the same quality, but now there's more space to sit. The brisket is excellent, and the jalapeño sausage is probably some of the best I've had. Pulled pork is good. The smoked baked beans are legit. Spicy slaw has some heat but is very flavorful.The Meat Staq is my go-to, and often, I have enough to eat another meal out of it. The banana pudding is also great. Don't fret about the cost; it's super tasty, and the portions are like you wouldn't believe. Don't skip Dave's.

One of the best barbecue places in Virginia Beach, the mouthwatering brisket was amazing! as well as the sides! omg

If you're a local or just here on vacation. Please go try out Dave's barbecue. Don't waste your time on those other places. This is the spot. We go quite often. My favorite is the burnt ends and baked beans. I also love the smoked turkey. My husband likes the smoked wings, buffalo style, brisketand pulled pork. Just the other day I got there smokehouse brisket chili, to die for. Highly recommend.

Best brisket I've ever had. Don't tell my BBQ buddy. Sandwich on a fresh potato roll hit the spot, with optional spicy coleslaw.Great service from folks that know their barbecue! Not super busy, with a comfortable atmosphere and plenty of napkins at the table.

Brisket sandwich is huge and not skimpy on the meat. Cole slaw was great. Husband said spicy slaw and rib ends were delicious. Definitely be back again.
