Danny's Hotdogs

Such a great mom and pop shop! It feels a little like I imagine "Cheers" to be where everybody knows your name (now I am really dating myself?! Ah). They only do pickup and order at your car (they actually come out to you and menu is on back of building where you park). The staff are super friendly, they are very fast, and the food was good. I felt well taken Care of! Eating in my car wasn't the best meal out, but this would definitely work if I needed to hop in and out! Great first experience!

About a 2-2.5: Danny's Hot Dogs is a small little stand that offers an extensive menu, offering items such as breakfast platters, breakfast wraps, deli sandwiches, lunch wraps, salads, hot dogs & sausages, various sides (such as fries, coleslaw, onion rings, breaded cheese sticks, etc.), smoothies, and desserts.When we visited, they were only having carry-outs or ordering from your vehicle; it was a rainy day, and you'd just had to 'honk' to grab someone's attention and they'll come out to meet you to take your order, get your payment, and then bring your ordered items back out to you.We ordered:+the Arezzio Italian Hot Sausage, which came with onions, garden peppers, and deli mustard in a sub roll, with a side of potato salad and a dill pickle+a Gwaltney regular with chili and onions+a side of onion ringsThe food was just okay; they did come piping hot, wrapped well, and included napkins. I wasn't really a fan of their version of the chili, as it was more on the bland side. The hot sausage wasn't as spicy as we thought, and the sub roll could have either been steamed or toasted, as ours was dry.Staff were friendly, and the process was actually speedy, considering the situation!There are some spots in the front, and this place does seem like a popular spot among the locals.+friendly staff+park and honk to order, pay, and receive order

I have been coming here for a long time! Let's just say the first time I came here, I couldn't spell hot dog or any other word!I know they have been around since the late 1960s. Danny was a Greek gentleman and proprietor of the restaurant. The chili sauce is his recipe and it's absolutely the BEST you will ever taste!!The current owners have had Danny's since the mid-90s. They bought the original chili recipe and are serving it up still today. The delicious chili takes 7 hours to cook up!The menu has grown over the years, but I am a diehard for the chili dogs! Brings back such good memories of family and being a kid Whenever I am back in Virginia Beach I have to swing in for some loveYou can eat inside or stay in the car for curbside service. Either way - you will Love it!Also...it is a family run business. They absolutely care about what they do and they're carrying on the tradition of Danny's great food and service

I hate to admit this but I've only been to this place two times-- and I used to work at the hospital down the street! It's a run down stand that has been here forever- passed by it many times. BUT, today I ordered a cheese burger and fries. Best ordered burger I've ever had! And the crinkle fries were the unhealthy deep fried kind and I ate every single one! A true mom and pop burger place! If you're looking for healthy, don't go here. But if you're looking for a good burger and fries type of place, pass by the other big names and go to Danny's Hot Dogs!!

I View myself as a hotdog connoisseur, having traveled all over the country sampling local hotdog joints. Who knew that one of the best was right in my backyard. Food was fresh coleslaw was maybe the best I've had and was delivered exceptionally fast. I will be back.

You have this cart outside of "Howling at the moon," on Georgia. I try to make it down there at the very least once a month, sometimes twice. There's this little short lady you got slinging dog's, bratwurst, and something called walking tacos. I can tell you that this little lady is quite a delight, and the food is on point for a night out on the town. I've heard of Frito pie, but never Dorito walking taco. I can definitely assure you that every time I come down there I'm coming to your cart! Thank you!!

Best hotdog ever. Nathan's Coney Island foot long, the rolls are always fresh. The chilli is awesome. A Nathan's hotdog, you can actually bite thru with out struggling like some other brands.

My mother and my Aunt would go to Danny's at least once a week and started taking me when I was 6 months old (in 1967) and feeding me the chili from the hotdogs. I grew up eating Danny's footings "all the way" until my mid 20s when I moved away from Va. Beach for college and then my career. Needless to say, whenever I am back home in Va. Beach, this is a must stop a couple of times for two foot-longs "all the way" each time. I wish knew rhe recipe so I could make them at "home"' here in Tennessee! It brings back the wonderful memories of my mom and my Aunt who have since passed away. I've never found another place anywhere with a hot dog chili sauce that is anywhere as good as the one at Danny's! Love, love, love this place. :-)

If I could do a negative 5 then I would. WORST FOID EVER! Found a hair on my fries and burger was the worst I ever had. Meat was hard like it was recooked from 3 days ago. Threw the whole meal away. Please don't go here!1/4 Lb. Danny Burger
