Good deli shop that has good food and quick serve and variety in the menu it has been around awhile and has a good local presence

The tuna sandwich was good but the service was super slow. Free pickles were good. I was not made to feel welcome.

Refused service because we had a service dog. We were seated but after a few minutes an employee came over and told us they do not allow service dogs. We thanked them and left.

The Warwicktonian on rye, no onions. Been ordering this for 20+ years. Love this sandwich, Danny's is the only place I've ever had it. Lots of other sandwiches there and the staff is super sweet.

Danny's Deli Restaurant is an ok local diner. It's a family owned restaurant with a diner style menu with a variety of food options. Greasy spoon options are probably the best options. Wait staff is quick to sat you in either their booth area or in the table area. Their service to get you drinks, take your order, bring the food and ask of you need anything else os at their pace. Eclectic memorabilia on the walls for decoration. Danny's is a place you come to grab a bite to eat for a reasonable price with no frills.

I am rating this restaurant 5 stars based primarily on the friendliness and kindness of the employees. We had a toddler with us and they were so kind and accomodating.Now I had never eaten there before but was there at Easter because they had special order homemade Easter eggs for sale.Today we visited and found many items on the menu to consider. My son ordered a sandwich called the Daily Double and he ate it so fast I couldn't get a photo. I ordered a half chicken salad sandwich which normally comes with soup but they had no soup. They offered chips which I agreed to but the chips didnt make it to my table. Still the chicken salad was delicious. Just regular good chicken salad with mayo and nothing fancy. I loved it. My daughter in law got the Greek Salad. She ate every bite. Granddaughter got chicken nuggets and fries and she actually ate some. Being a picky toddler it's hit or miss. It comes with milk or soda but they had no milk. Instead they brought her a full size adult sweet tea and she burst into very disruptive tears until the super kind hostess brought her a smaller cup with a lid.They offer deli pickles on the house and my son said they were like a dill pickle and very good.The wood bench booths were nice and kept toddler happy to be up close to the table. They do have high chairs but not for use at the booths.They offer free lunch time delivery within 9 miles and their take out business seemed brisk.It seems that they are only open until 3 unless I am wrong about that, because they are a perfect place for supper.So the lack of menu items like soup, milk, and the forgotten chips with my sandwich would normally result in about 4 stars all things considered, but given how accommodating they were, even bringing out food to the cranky toddler first, the very reasonable price and the good food, I'm sticking with 5 stars. We will assuredly be back!

Placed a to go order. Picked it up, got to my destination, and realized my sandwich was made wrong (had globs of mayo, which I requested it to be without). Called back to the restaurant. Cashier who originally took order was super kind, apologized, and asked if I could bring sandwich back to restaurant and they would remake. I returned to the establishment approximately 15 minutes later. Cashier again genuinely apologized and said they would have the kitchen remake it. No bad feelings at this point, I understand mistakes happen and am just ready to eat some lunch. Cook brings sandwich up front and the cashier bags it. She throws in 2 bags of chips, even though I told her it was no big deal. I return to back to my destination, ready to finally eat. I look at the sandwich and it's missing a layer (Jenni's club has 3 pieces of bread, this time it only has 2). Oh well, I'm hungry. I take my first bite and taste Mayo. I pick the sandwich apart, only to realize, they've replaced the bread and partially wiped the orig mayo off the chicken and ham. This is unacceptable. I could have wiped the mayo off myself, if that's what I wanted. I called back to the store only to have no one answer 3 times. As I'm driving BACK to the restaurant AGAIN, they finally pick up and I let them know I'm arriving in the parking lot. Cashier advises she will get the manager to speak to me. The Manager, Kim ? comes up to the front and I tell her the issue. She does not apologize or anything of the sorts. All she does is ask me to show her the mayonnaise. I show her one spot and she says "no that's cheese". I told her "no ma'am, it's definitely mayonnaise, it's just starting to absorb into the bread". I then tell her I've taken pictures, as I find another section of chicken and wipe the mayo onto my finger. She then proceeds to say "He (the cook) replaced the bread, I watched him. I gave him permission to reuse the chicken only"What kind of restaurant wipes off and reuses meat? What if there had been an allergy. This is an inexcusable practice. Wonder what other dirty practices go on in that kitchen??Manager did refund the order, but I will not be eating there again and will be sharing this unsafe kitchen habit with others- which was approved by the manager.

Overall classic and delicious family deli! Excellent chicken salad sandwich and a delightful piece of Heath bar cheesecake to go! I will definitely be back for the food and friendly service!!!

we LOVE Dannys Deli. they are very accommodating and friendly and never had a bad experience here AT ALL. love the pickles, sandwiches are delicious and a bowl of soup is always a good choice.

One of the few things I miss in Newport News from moving to Williamsburg late last year. Made a trip to the mall and picked that for lunch. Cheese steak as good as ever with fries and ate the bowl of those great pickles. Miss this gem of a deli!!!!
