Dale House Cafe

I happened to stop into the cafe shortly before they were closing and just had me a hard cider which I enjoyed outdoors in front of the James River.It is a cute place to stop and get something to munch on while your visiting Jamestown. They have quick snacks and some nice sammies & real food to eat if your hungry. My friend got the minestrone soup which she said was very good.There is a patio that you can sit outside & enjoy your food or snacks on a good day. I also took note of the local items they happened to carry like the fudge and the honey.The staff was also nice & helpful.A solid place to visit in the Jamestown area when your in need of a quick bite or drink.

After spending two weeks stopping in at quick places to eat doing museums - Dale House Cafe was a hidden gem! We ordered a spring wrap and a pulled pork BBQ sandwich. Both were excellent! And, the most inexpensive and satisfying museum meal we had on our trip! I liked that they had options for your side with your sandwich and you were not just stuck with potato chips! As a vegan, it was nice to see a vegan option on the menu and it was so tasty I took a picture of the menu so I could try to recreate it at home! If you are stopping at the museums at Jamestown - give this place a try!

Got the Brie Melt sandwich, which is turkey, Brie, sliced apples and cranberry Mayo on cinnamon swirl bread. Added my Apple cranberry slaw to the sandwich and WOW! Definitely a stellar sandwich. Add the Slaw and you elevate a good sandwich to spectacular.Dessert was a massive Fat Banana ice cream sandwich. This was a great meal from.......a museum cafe?! Go figure. 10 out of 10.

Not your standard lunch fare. Fresh food choices, nothing heavy. Great vegetation options. Friendly staff.

Great escape from the humidity. The Yorktown Onion is a tasty vegan wrap. Loved the Greek olives, hummus crisp lettuce and cucumbers. Great combination. I didn't give 5 stars because it wasn't a friendly service.

Considering your food options are limited in this place, we were pleasantly surprised with the sandwiches here. Ordered the Baron von Steuben, The US Grant, The Alliance sandwiches with sides of pasta salad, potato salad, and cole slaw. Sandwiches were meaty and the potato salad was pretty tasty.Loved the fact that you could chill out on the shaded patio enjoying the river view and beautiful breeze. If it's too humid to be outdoors, the cafe interior is cool. Bathrooms were clean and the guys running the shop were nice.

We loved this cafe! It was nice to find light, delicious food at a "tourist" location. Gluten free bread $1.99 add on was a little steep in my opinion but I was so excited that I quickly forgot! We ordered The Alliance, The Atlantic and The Godspeed. Worth the money and we loved the view from the patio. If you are traveling and find yourself at Jamestown at lunch time, this is a perfectly wonder place to end up.

They have vegan AND gf options here. Thankful for snacks and lunch here. Everything tastes great

Absolutely delicious! Great prices. Fresh ingredients. Stopped in after walking through the museum. Free cold water. Ordered the Quartermaster. Wonderful! Staff was friendly. Place was clean. Bathrooms were clean. Couldn't really have done much better. A+

Not much to it. Salad was good. Could use an upgrade inside. Ambiance inside is totally non existent. Outside tables along river good.
