We had a reservation and seated pretty quickly. It took 15 minutes for someone to swing by and take our drink order (water). We ordered calamari to start and for our entrees we had the fried shrimp platter and salt and pepper catfish. All 3 dishes were lightly bartered and fried well. I thought they food was fine and met expectations for fried seafood. We went on a Saturday evening in July for dinner and it was pretty warm in the restaurant so I was ready to be and in and out and not stay any longer than we needed to. If we were in the area, I'd consider coming back and trying other dishes.

Charming atmosphere, delightful staff and our lunches met our expectations. We each had the chicken salad on crispy, fresh lettuce leaves and sweet potato fries. We will return.

We grabbed lunch today! Everyone enjoyed it all! All five of us!The renovated general store was a nice venue. The drinks were excellent! My mojito was one of the best I've had!Two of our ladies had the raspberry lemonade with gin? They loved it!A blackberry martini was super! And how can a Vienna lager be anything but great! The Cuban was tasty; as was the steak & cheese. The chicken salad and burger was also good. Our only negative was in the very ordinary onion rings and crinkle fries.Overall....well worth the trip and experience!

I think I forgot to post a review of last weeks visit and Prime Rib night. The PR was just perfect. I enjoyed every bite. (only suggestion is more garlic, but that's me) Wife had the pork chop (she said hers was even better). We'll be back for certain.Luke was totally on point with his service and wit. Best of luck as he moves on.

A wonderfully charming addition to the area, Cygnets offers the perfect mix of entrée options without presenting an encyclopedic menu one gets lost in. Even then, it was difficult to select one entrée over another for our maiden trip to Cygnets. The Catfish Bites (appetizer) were delightfully breaded - without the heavy handed crunch that sometimes hides the flavor of Catfish. Pimento Cheese (another appetizer) was melted - and accompanied by toast points. The Frenched Pork Chop was perfectly seasoned and exquisitely grilled - branded with char marks from a hot grill - and presented juicy after juicy bite. 'Twas so good that I would have gnawed on the bone if not sitting in a busy restaurant. The Sweet Potato Waffle Fries were - well, sweet & tasty without the need for any condiments (could have been served a little warmer). Only mild disappointment was the "grilled" corn on the cob which seemed a little soggy - and not so much grilled - but was still flavorful.Tried a bite of grits from a friend's Shrimp & Grits entrée - and they were smooth and delicious. Not "Eyes rolling to the back of your head" delicious like at Adrift - but without the king's ransom price at Adrift.Cygnets is the type of restaurant that can serve as an anchor for a town such as Lottsburg, can redefine an area, and provides a great alternative to driving to Kilmarnock or Reedville for a fine meal. The restaurant itself is housed in a country-comfortable-charming-converted home near Lottsburg Café and Allison's Ace Hardware. Whoever decorated the place had the perfect touch. And their Cygnets logo? Perfect. One of our party (a marketing maven) was so impressed, they pondered whether they could buy one of the logo-adorned t-shirts the waitstaff were wearing. "Cygnets" (you will learn from their menu) are baby Swans - something the owners affectionately call their three children. Made all the more charming when you learn that the owners are named Keith & Holly SWANN. How cute is that? Both Keith and Holly checked in on our party to ensure everything was just right. Can't wait to come back for lunch and try Cygnets' Cuban sammich, Rueben, Burger, etc. Or to stop by their bar for an after-work cocktail and appetizer; Really want this place to thrive - and from the looks of their parking lot, they are well on their way! Well-done team Cygnets!

Had a great evening with friends celebrating the holiday. There were 19 people and our waitress Perry was so amazing. She never stopped smiling and delt with all of us in such an accomplished way! Oh, the food was delicious as well!

First I want to say I rarely give 5 stars because no place is perfect in every way nor can any restaurant maintain it consistently. That being said, I want to tell you we "thoroughly" enjoyed our meals at Cygnets! I'd give 4.5 stars if I could. We have lived in the Northern Neck a couple years, but this was our first visit. It is a nice little 'ol fashioned family restaurant. You may not even notice it driving by, but you should really watch for it. It was difficult to choose our appetizer and meals. The pretzel and beer cheese was some of the best I've ever tried. I had the salmon (ordered rare) and it was almost too good. lol. The loaded baked potato and green beans were great also. My wife ordered the chicken with linguine and loved it. Be sure to leave room for dessert! Our waitress, Andrea, was very attentive and sweet. I think you will be more than happy if you happen to get her. She made our first visit even more special. We will definitely return and highly recommend Cygnets to others!

We tried Cygnets Restaurant for the first time one day in September while some of our out-of-town family are here. Two of us had Shrimp & Grits, one had Cygnet Imposter, one ordered Pulled Pork with fries, and another had blackened Shrimp Alfredo. They were all above average & enjoyable. The 2nd time, I was unhappy, but I look forward to a third visit because the management has told me they are committed to customer satisfaction and we should try again. We will. Thank you!
