Cutty Sark

What a great find last minute. Such a great place to stay for me and my daughter. Cute studio apt. Right across from beach. The staff was helpful and very friendly and our stay was great. Would definitely recommend. Water pressure was so great here!

Doesn't look like much from the outside... but the last of mom and pop hotels and they are the best hosts you could ask for! Rooms are spotless! Quiet hotel steps from beach! Efficiency rooms! Saved some money on breakfast and lunches. Made some friends along the way. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly! Tammy was great! Definitely coming back! Thanks for a great vacation!

Very kind people. Clean and roomy cottage. Enjoyed the outside pool as well as the ocean. Only one block away. Close enough to walk far enough to be away from the hustle.

I stayed there for 9 nights. Really enjoyed it. The people who work at this hotel are so friendly. The room and location were great. Thanks guys!

If you're on tight vacation budget then this will work. Close to beach and things to walk to like shops and restaurants. Has clean pool for swimming. Rooms could be bit more thoroughly cleaned.

This place is amazing! It's one room, bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need! Our balcony had water view so we woke up to the sunrise every morning looking at the water. The staff was amazing and so nice! Next to dunking doughnuts and on the main board walk so we were able to take the trolly or scooters everywhere. We will be back next year!

Me and three other in my family came to stay here for a wrestling tournament at Virginia Beach. They let us down. They didn't let us stay at the hotel because we have 4 people. We booked it and because of 4 people, we couldn't stay there due to the company's fault. They charge us 300 dollars more a night to stay at an equally trashy place. Ridiculous! Would not recommend! I wish I could give 0 . 0/0. Horrible!

Very quaint "retro" motel. My mother and I stayed for a long girls weekend and really enjoyed the quiet location, convenience to the ocean - it's just across the street with handicapped parking (she can't walk to far at one time) and the Owners very welcoming. Overall good value.

A marvelous, clean, cool, quiet with every amenity room with a gorgeous view & precious history (A member of the small elegant hotels in the word)! Loved it!!!

The hotel is old but clean, and the staff was very friendly. We just stayed at the Cutty Sark with a 16 month old. We chose this motel based on the rules from the website which read no visitors. Years ago, I wouldn't have wanted this but this time it was exactly what we needed. It emphasized "family" motel and had a strict policy of quiet time and appropriate behavior. Unfortunately, that standard didn't hold true. During our last day and night, our neighbors were smoking weed and it was coming in through our AC units. It was ridiculously strong. When we told the innkeeper, he did speak to them and told my husband they would be done smoking and we could move to another apartment if we wanted to.At this point, it was way past bedtime and we would have had to move all of our bags, a pack and play, and the baby. Of course, the neighbors were not done smoking and stayed up all night to do so. Years ago, this would not be a big deal to me, but my kid was hot boxed in the hotel room. We slept with the balcony door open, and it seemed unprofessional to not kick those visitors out the second they decided to be inconsiderate to the rest of the guests.
