Currituck BBQ

Arrived at Currituk BBQ in Elizabeth City on a rainy Tuesday night. There was a healthy line waiting to order food to go and to dine in. It had been a long day of driving in the rain and I was ready for a BIG dinner.I ordered a hot dog and fries off the kid's menu (part of my effort to get a hot dog in every county in NC) and a pound of the burnt ends. Now the burnt ends were listed as marked price but I was still shook when the cashier gave me my total and it was $40. After a quick double take, I offered my form of payment and went to wait for my order. My number was called and as I got the tray, I realized that a pound of burnt ends was a LOT of meet. Just, a whole container. I probably didn't need all that (in fact, I had leftover for the lunch the next day), but it smelled amazing.Since the hot dog here is just off the kid's menu, don't expect any fancy toppings. Mustard and ketchup worked for me.The fries were good, crispy and well-seasoned.The burnt ends were great. Fall apart tender. I enjoyed trying the different sauces available. As mentioned, burnt ends and fries became my lunch for the next day.I'd return to Currituck BBQ and would get the burnt ends again, to share!

Great ribs deal on Wednesdays! $11.99 for a half rack, two sides and hush puppies. I also got a little glutinous and ordered some banana pudding. Ribs delicious, desert delicious, side dishes eh. Really tender, large ribs. Very delicious bbq sauce options. I will return!!

Customer service is terrible. Serving sizes are small. Speed of service is slower than a sloth. Not a welcoming environment.

On our way back from a week at the OBX, we decided to get barbecue for lunch, and stopped at Currituck. Prices weren't bad, and service was okay, as was the barbecue. My wife and I both had the pork sandwiches. The meat was okay, as was the sauce. Wasn't a big fan of the baked beans, but the fries were great.

Love the pig picking bbq sandwiches. 2 for $2.00 Tuesdays are a favorite. People are always so friendly. Such a nice place.

Service is friendly, the restaurant is very clean, and the food was good. As a North Carolinian (now residing in Maryland) bbq is a must upon every visit home. This visit was a college visit in a part of NC I do not normally frequent, but still Bbq won the dinner vote. Food was just ok. The sandwich was kinda soggy even thought it was fresh made. Green beans were so yummy, but the sweet potato soufflé was very very sweet. 3 bites and I could not finish. Don't get me wrong, it was good! But I could only eat so much. Price point was good too, 3 of us are full meals for around $10 a person.

Food is always really good and the service is fast. Nice local bbq place, interior is roomy and always clean.

Cashier was very and had an attitude when I was trying to ask questions about the menu.

When the cashier grabs my cup to hand it to me, he grabbed by rim putting his fingers on the inside of my cup! (Health code violation!!!:Food: filled a void.Would I return? Not by choice

You Just can't beat Good ,Old Style North Carolina Barbecue that's cooked the Old Fashioned way - with Love . Been going here for years on our annual trip to the Outer Banks . Food is Always Delicious and the people are so nice !These people Know what they are doing - You won't be disappointed !
