Beautiful bridge in the heart of the William & Mary campus. It crosses a small pond and is very picturesque. Always have to cross it when here on a visit. I'll be back!

We were looking for interesting things off the beaten path during our stay in Williamsburg. Found this gem on the William and Mary campus! Enjoyed a nice hike around the area that had interesting trees, sculptures and views.

This is a must see spot if you are touring the William and Mary campus. Many legends surround the bridge. If you cross with a friend, you are friends for life. I did it with my bestie as an undergrad, and we will soon be friends for 25 years! If you cross with a lover and kiss at the top, you are destined to marry. The only way to break it is to throw the guy or girl in the water. Legends aside, this spot is beautiful in any season. You can enter from the pathway by the university center or through the wooded path from the Sunken gardens. It's a serene spot to reflect on the way nature abounds on this campus. I think it's a great junction between the colonial style of old campus and the style of new campus. Definitely stop by to seal a friendship, see the legend or just experience a bit of history!
