The Clubhouse at Colonial Heritage is a great choice if you want good food and drinks and great service. The only downside is the awkwardness of getting in to Colonial Heritage. We sat at a table in their bar section, which had sound paneling, which we learned was installed to help with the music and talking sometimes getting a bit loud. While we were there though, it did not get too loud for us.Our server was very nice and knew the Colonial Hertiage residents we were dining with well enough that he knew their drink order without asking. I went with the Summer Smash, which needed to be mixed a little with the straw because on first sip, it was all lemon, but when mixed, it was a well-balanced drink. For our appetizer, we picked the fried oysters on a bed of lettuce with a remoulade. The oysters and remoulade were great, but the lettuce was a bit wilted (probably from the heat of the oysters). For dinner, we got the shrimp po boy with coleslaw and the hand-battered fish and chips. Everything tasted amazing. The fish and chips were so crispy and hot. The coleslaw was made with a balanced mix of mustard-mayo-vinegar. Highly recommend everything we had!

Sunday Brunch at the Colonial Heritage Clubhouse restaurant is open to the public, well priced, and delicious! Skip the long lines at the pancake houses on Richmond Road (Route 60). Located across from the Williamsburg Pottery, the Colonial Heritage restaurants (dining room and pub) are open to the public. For $17, the brunch buffet offers a custom-made omelet and Belgium Waffle station, as well as a buffet line of pastries, fruit, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, pork sausage, turkey sausage, Caesar salad, and French toast. Coffee and tea were $2.70, and mixed drinks like mimosas and Bloody Mary's were available from the bar. The food was hot and excellent. In addition, the chef and staff were friendly, kind, and efficient. We enjoyed the beautiful holiday decorations in the dining room, the fireplace, and the festive music. In addition, the views of the golf course were lovely! We highly recommend!

I have been to this place many times. Brunch is the best but dinner tonight was better than usual. Service was very good and our waitress seemed attentive and friendly. In our group my dish looked the best. My short rib came with a choice of veggies (I chose Brussels sprouts) but they looked boiled or something... these lacked flavor and texture was floppy. The short rib had a huge chunk of fat attached but this probably provided a decent amount of flavor. I would not recommend having lunch here. Overall, nothing special, but if you live near by it's pretty and food is served quickly.

Walking into Colonial Heritage, we fell in love with venue. Then we met Corey, OMG. We fell in love all over again. Corey is the best ever and he made the day go so smoothly! His experience is unmatched. Corey and the entire staff worked with us for over a year and we even had to postpone once due to Covid. Corey responded to quickly to every text, email and call. He makes sure your day is perfect and everything is about YOU TWO! Colonial Heritage is gorgeous! It's in a gated community and there are tons of areas for beautiful pictures. I couldn't imagine our wedding day going any better than it did. You will not regret having your wedding or any event at Colonial Heritage!

Things to know:- The golf course is in great condition. Plush fairways. Bunkers are full of new sand.- Greens roll very well for being early in the season (May).- Driving range is great. The chipping green is exceptional. The putting green is beautiful.- It's located within the neighborhood but the houses aren't in range to hit (unless you're an awful golfer).- The clubhouse is nice. Pro shop, pool, workout facility, and a dining. One stop shop for many.- Located not too far from the outlet malls. If you plan it right, you can get some shopping down before or after your golf round.Interesting things:- The golf course is in a retirement community. This isn't the type of golf course that I find retired people would want to play. It's not super difficult but hard enough for those that are much older. (A few forced carries and a few holes difficult enough to make you want to quit golf.)- You can walk the golf course but the distance between holes is significant. Retired folks like to walk and while it can be done, it just seems really exhausting.Admittedly, I was a bit intimidated by the course but I found that I enjoyed this challenging track. It's certainly worth checking out.

buyer beware of colonial heritage: what should have been our golden years has turned into our nightmare years. colonial heritage is a dangerous place to live. we take our life in our own hands just going to the mail box to get our mail as there are hundreds of speeding violations every day. (see colonial heritage speeding reports show over 700 speeding violations in one day) colonial heritage has never once issued a warning or fine to any of the tens of thousands of speeders in this community. we have pictures, evidence, documentation to prove every allegation in this complaint.colonial heritage has no security enforcement patrol or number to call.there have been numerous car break ins-vandalism reports-thefts and homeless people reported to have been sleeping on homeowners property.our neighbors frequently trespass on our property, allow there grass to grow for weeks and pile debris and junk on there patio. they do not abide by any of the rules in his community. they are the dredges of society and do not respect themselves, there property or this community. colonial heritage is private property and the james city county police have almost no authority to enforce speeding, trespassing and many more of the basic laws to protect your property and live a peaceful life.colonial heritage promotes this community as a over 55 community anyone can live here, only one person has to be 55 years old. there are many children who live here with there parents. (so much for the over 55 community) colonial heritage is open to the public so the guard gate out front is a joke and anyone is allowed to enter, play golf and eat at the restaurants. we paid$5,000 at closing to buy our home and anyone is allowed to enter the community. they call this a private gated community ???the hoa has hundreds of polices and rules and none have been enforced since we have lived here. in fact, the new management raised our hoa to $290 a month and fired the kind hearted, decent, helpful people that worded here for years. the new management goes out of there way to tell you what they cant do and wont do.some dog owners go out of there way to take there dogs to urinate and defecate on other people property. notice the many "respect the lawn" signs throughout the community. what kind of people wont allow there dogs to urinate or defecate on there own property and go out of there way to walk them onto other peoples property. we cant wait to sell our home and move. colonial heritage should know that when we leave, the next unknowing family that moves in will be subjected to the same living nightmare we live every day and the problem will still be here. the solution moves away and the problem stays behind. shame on you colonial heritage. dont be mislead by the seemingly nice appearance of colonial heritage. what lurks behind the facade is far more disgusting. living at colonial heritage has been the worst experience of our life. colonial heritage is a horrible, horrible place to live and we would not recommend colonial heritage to any decent, law abiding family.
