Cogans gives a "locals only" vibe that could be because of all the college kids. Service can be hit or miss. Nothing terrible - just average. The Norfolk club sandwich with hot peppers is great. Pizza is good, too. I'd eat here more often if the ranch was homemade.

Cogan's Pizza North lured me in with its proximity and a menu boasting a meat-lover's paradise. My sights were set on the "Meatzilla," a carnivorous behemoth promising a symphony of pepperoni, sausage, ham, and bacon. While the aroma upon entering was undeniably enticing, the actual delivery on the pizza front proved somewhat uneven. The crust, unfortunately, lacked the desired airy char and crackle, instead clinging to the palate with a damp texture. The promised avalanche of meat materialized sparsely, leaving vast expanses of cheese-laden dough yearning for their carnivorous companions. Even the pepperoni, usually a reliable hero, seemed to shrink under the spotlight, its once-crisp edges yielding to a softened state. The Kahuna pizza offered a slightly brighter note. Fresh pineapple and salty prosciutto engaged in a tango on the dough, but the choreography was decidedly off-kilter. Some bites had juicy fruit and savory ham, while others were quite bare of tapping. It was a pizza of islands, each harboring its own distinct feast, but lacking the harmonious cohesion that elevates a pizza to greatness. The fried calamari, sadly, followed the pattern of inconsistency. Overcooked and heavily salted, it resembled a forgotten treasure chest at the bottom of the sea, its once-golden rings transformed into brittle, unyielding husks. Even the alfredo sauce, offered as a potential counterpoint, couldn't redeem the situation. Its blandness simply added another layer of disappointment to the already over-seasoned affair.Cogan's Pizza North presented a curious dilemma. The potential for greatness shimmered beneath the surface, evident in the glimpses of fresh ingredients and bold flavors. However, the execution stumbled at the finish line, leaving behind a trail of missed opportunities and flavors that failed to sing in unison. Perhaps it was an off night, a culinary hiccup in the grand scheme of pizza-making.While the convenience factor remains undeniable, and the glimpses of potential linger, Cogan's North falls short of a resounding recommendation. My culinary odyssey continues, in search of a haven where crust reigns supreme, meat lovers find harmonious bounty, and calamari emerges from the fryer a golden, crispy delight. Perhaps, one day, the Meatzilla at Cogan's will truly roar its carnivorous anthem. But for now, the memory remains a cautionary tale of promise unfulfilled.

Dive pizza place but in the best way possible. Cheap, strong drinks and lots of beers on draft. Large bar and even have an outside area. We got the poutine and it was really good. Lots of bar food, and pizza looked really great. A great spot to watch sports and get some food!

Terrible customer service, extremely slow, and overall the food was sub par. I'd put any Papa Johns in America over this lackluster establishment.

One word... YUM! This place is great! Definitely a fun, divey, college pizza place/bar, the vibes were great! We called to place an order and the girl on the phone was adorable!! She seemed thrilled to be there and to me that's a great sign! When I went to pick up the order the parking spaces seemed very limited but if you turn the corner there are plenty more. It was quite busy but I expected that for a beautiful Friday night. The girl from the phone helped me pay for my order ( I believe her name was lex..sorry I never got your name!) and she was just as sweet as she was on the phone! She gave me a wait time and I happily stood to wait off to the side. There was a full bar and two big pizza ovens that you can see while you wait/eat. All of the staff were very kind and I waited just a few more minutes and the food was ready. It was delicious even after my 20 minute drive home!! We got a chicken parmesan pasta, garlic knots with garlic butter, and the supreme pizza (pepperoni, sausage, peppers and onions) with half no onions We will definitely be back!! :)

BE AWARE THE WAIT FOR A SINGLE PIZZA CAN RUN IN EXCESS OF 1 HOUR! Been wanting to come here badly since getting back into town, good selection of beers, but as it has be stated in other reviews, the time to get a pizza is astronomically bad. I have been here now for over an hour sans a single order of a pizza. Staff is nice but be aware the wait for food is RIDICULOUS. Having experience in two pizza places, I can attest it should not take this long. Not sure what the hold up is nor why there's really a delay to start with be be aware the wait is atrocious!

Overall a good experience! As soon as you walk in, there's a bar area with two pool tables. To the right of the entrance, is the main dining area. Food was pretty good, got the 16" pizza and it was definitely a lot to take in, so be sure to bring an appetite. The onion rings were a nice addition. At first, service was a bit iffy. Waited a bit before we got seated because no one was checking-in people at the front. Definitely not from my experience but just from what I saw from other customers, the servers could've been seen as rude but I saw it as them being straightforward and trying to manage multiple things at once. My waitress was super attentive and considerate.

My favorite pizza place in Norfolk. Went this Valentine's Day for my moms bday and got our usual. We get the white pizza with pesto and broccoli. Our pizza was missing ricotta but I figured she'd heard me wrong & put it in as a regular pizza with 2 toppings. Still yummy so we ate. When I got my bill I was charged for the white pizza. I let my server know and they said it would be the same price without it. I have no problem paying, but when the bill is already 50 and cheese as a topping alone is $3.29, that's quite a difference. Then the manager came and said the ricotta was hidden under the other cheese and they're sure it's there. We had slices to spare clearly without ricotta, willing to cut apart to show. They took a dollar off which I appreciated. Until the server came back with my receipt and threw it on the table without even looking at me and walked away. Unfortunately just will not be coming back after that but willing to check out their other location.

We ordered takeout and 3 out of 4 pizzas were extremely burnt. This isn't the first time we have been given burnt pizza from this restaurant. It was very disappointing because Cogans has really good pizza when it is not burnt to a crisp.

I came in for pickup and was told by a table of idle employees my order would be 8 minutes and was told I could take a seat and wait for the order to come up. 20 minutes later I went to to the kitchen myself and asked if my order was ready and lo and behold it was getting cold. The table of employees that initially helped me helped me were too busy to follow through I guess. I get better service for half the price at other pizza chains.
