My boyfriend and I had a reservation at Toyama's for dinner at 7:30pm. Our table wasn't ready and they would give us call as soon as possible, implying within the next 30 minutes. We walked next door to Coasters, hoping to grab a quick beer, sat at the bar for 10-15 minutes. There were 3 bartenders behind the bar and maybe 6 people sitting at the bar with drinks. Dan, Toby, and another female bartender saw us. I waved the female down. She said hi and kept going. No one offered any service at all!!! At that point Toyamas called to inform us our table was ready. We left unsatisfied, disappointed at the service, and will never go back to a place where the bartenders offer no service. Do yourself a favor and go checkout other welcoming establishments . Don't even bother walking into their doors.

Great bar in downtown. The bartender was very good. Mixed drinks were done very well. Lots of beers on draft. The place was busy but the one bartender was very professional and managed the place well. The bar is very long. Plenty of seats at the bar along with some small tables in the back. TVs going to catch a game. The mix appeared to be mostly local. We may have been the only tourist there at the time. This isn't a "trendy" bar with a craft cocktail menu (at least I didn't see one). It is a local watering hole that is very casual. Everyone seemed friendly. It is in downtown so you have to find street parking or a garage for your car. They do take cash and plastic. Recommend.

This small town bar has a surprisingly large number of brews on tap. (I counted 20! But they don't have anything else-- BEER ONLY!) Don't be shy, ask the barkeep to try as many as you need before ordering yourself a tasty pint. There's plenty of seating both at the bar and at the tables, but I'm going to have to agree with Brent I. on coming on a full stomach; I don't know if I trust that George Foreman grill. On the other hand, you can always order a few sushi rolls from Toyama next door. Coasters will let you bring in outside food!My only regret is not getting here on a Wednesday night, when they have their Free Fill & Free Glass Special.

What a randomly great little bar to find in a little town like Elizabeth City! They have a fabulous beer selection and friendly staff. It's a pretty cozy place, so if you're in a small group, expect some conversation with strangers. The food, such as it is, is very limited (6 things on the menu, I think?), but I suspect that's just there to maintain a beer license or something. Hope nobody ever stumbles and falls out in the beer garden, because there's enough glass on the ground out there to shred a person. Maybe they'll clean that bit up when it gets warm- it has potential to be a nice spot in the summer. All in all, it's a nice place to get together with friends for a pint. Plus, everything toward the island is closed for the season, so where else is there?

Best selection of brews in the county. Good mix of Locals and coasties. Excellent staff who is down to earth and always willing to recommend a favorite brew. Now I just need to brush up on my darts and bags! There's a great patio out back for bags. This is a "Private Club" so make sure you ask about membership.

Great bartenders. Good beer. I've spent many a night here. On many an occasion. I have yet to have a problem with any bartender. The beer is great with a wide selection that changes. They have music on the weekends as well as karaoke every other Saturday.

Been here more than a few times and enjoyed every visit. I look for a few important criteria in order for that place to be worthy to be called a cool hang out. Fortunately this place fits the bill in every test. 1. Clean 2. Menu 3. Atmosphere 4. People 5. Staff (at least these are categories I check through for myself).Food is really good and the prices are crazy. When I lived in the area this was my lunch choice for the longest time. Killer sandwiches with a good fountain drink to slosh it down. I'm the odd ball reviewer cause I don't even drink. The staff are great and they have big windows to stare at the drunk bafoons stumble into oncoming traffic. All in all.. a dinner and a show for a great price.

We are new to the area and we're recommended this place because they stay open until two AM with great specials and entertainment . Upon arrival @ 9pm we walked into the bar with no greeting or recognition by the bartender. After 5 minutes of him talking to the 2 other customers & a staff member he finally asked what we would like to drink. I asked about any house specials or their signature drink. His response was OH EVERYTHING IS SPECIAL. He was rude and definitely did make us feel welcome at all!! Didn't offer a food menu and treated us like we inconvenienced him. Try to get somebody behind the bar that at least says hello and wants service patrons as they come into the bar!
