Coastal Cafe

I wanted to love the little place, but I couldn't. There are limited tables, so we sat at the bar. My friend and I were welcomed by a very friendly bartender. Food was delicious! I ordered a shrimp basket with fries. It came with the option of regular or jalapeño hush puppies. I chose the jalapeño for a kick. The shrimp were made with love, but not the fries. It tasted as if the oil in the deep fryer hadn't been changed in a while. My friend ordered the fish tacos (2) and she couldn't stop raving how good it was. She wanted one more to take home, but the POS didn't allow to just add one more to her order, so she ordered another set of 2. Service was great. As we were finishing up, they had a game going on called "Boom Box Bingo," where you listen to a snippet of songs and cross them off on a bingo sheet. They had a modern version and a 50's music version. Now I must say, I only knew a couple of songs from the 50s, so what I did for the songs that I didn't know was use my Apple Watch ....wink wink (lol). I didn't win, but it was fun. While enjoying my margarita, I saw a huge water bug crawling up the wall near the tables and people were just moving out of the way while eating. It disappeared at the edge of the ceiling tiles. 5m later there was another one that was right near my foot at the bar. I just had to leave immediately. What came out of it that was great was that I made a new friend who is also on Yelp. I noticed his name from one of the reviews LOL

These shrimp were HUGE! Well steamed and it rubbery, seasoned just right. The butter sauce and cocktail were great additions but barely needed. Will definitely order again!

Its a nice combination of cafe and bar. Awesome vibe and great hangout spot. My issue is that we waited about an hour for food. I ordered from the "Thursday Specials" menu board, so I didn't expect to wait that long. As we were about to leave the food came out. The waitress seemed pretty busy as she worked through a lunch rush. I wont say the food was worth the wait, but will give credit and admit shrimps were delicious.

I would like to say coastal café is spot on for atmosphere ,food and price point. The staff is genuine, humbling, and caring. they keep an eye on time and attention to each patron. The chef Terry has a true talent for cooking. all he tuna, cooked rare with a cool center with rice paired perfect with the cannabis oil i had taken. The feeling for one to be comfortable out is difficult when you're alone. coastal café feels like family. the only down side was the bar stools. when you have back issues like most of us do. sitting on a hard stool is hard. would sit longer with a better seat. $$ but with this review about awesome service and food. hopefully will drive more business. This will up the bottom line and change out those barstools hopefully. I will be bringing my cousin and help out local business. love this bar

First and foremost this is a bar! No. 1. this is wheelchair assessable. No. 2. A sweet little patio in front would be amazing if it was smoke free! No. 3. Enjoyed lunch with several ladies and the Jambalaya was voted tops. Otherwise all the standard VB menu options, BLT, Burger, fries. No. 4. Sadly the website said open for breakfast, but it is not. It opens at 11 for lunch. No. 5. Service was minimal, distracted by phone and smokes.

Food and service were excellent. We were a party of 12. We were there on a Wednesday night.

I started coming in the past few months and I love the atmosphere and vibes! I have to say you have the best bartender Caroline. She's the reason I keep coming back. So personable, kind,and funny. See ya next week!

The server Caroline made our experience! She is amazing and is an amazing server! I hope to get her next time we come!
