This is our second visit to CLTRE and they are 2/2! The breakfast burrito is a must try. They have a very unique flavor on everything we tried! The Hawaiian waffle was delicious and wasn't too sweet! The burrito has the most delicious sauce and protein. The service was great (again) and the food was made quickly. I really enjoy the comfortable vibe in here and feel like I could chill here all day. Highly recommend for all vegans and non vegans.

After being inconsistent for the last year, I resumed Meatless Monday and ventured out to black-owned and fellow @olddominionu alum Luvenia Hawkins @queen_frequency's Cltre Vegan Joint @cltrevegan! Here is what I grabbed: sausage biscuit and gravy cinnamon apples bananaberry I love sausage and gravy, but since I don't dine with the swine (I don't eat pork), I rarely enjoy it while dining out. So, anytime there is a vegan option, it is a must-order! The toasted homemade buttery biscuit with pepper gravy and vegan breakfast sausage was just what I needed to start my day with hours of errands ahead. I grabbed some cinnamon apples, and to sip, l grabbed a banana, strawberry, and blueberry smoothie to accompany my entree. No additional sweeteners were needed.Culture's motto -The Only Thing Missing From CLTRE is "U"!! So make sure U go get yours!

CLTRE is a great vegan cafe located in the plaza between Indian River Road and Kempsville Road. There is plenty of parking. The cafe has an eclectic and welcoming environment with a small collection of books, merchandise from local vendors, and advertisements from businesses nearby that give it a local grassroots vibe. You order at the counter and can eat in the cafe or take your food to go. I tried the TTLA (Tempeh, Tomato, Lettuce, and Avocado) and it was delicious! I also recommend adding their Cheez as a topping as it was incredibly flavorful. The chocolate chip cookie was alright. I try not to hold a different standard for reviewing vegan food, and this cafe is no different. The food is great quality even if you are not vegan. Proud to know there is a great plant-based restaurant in Virginia Beach. Hope you stop by soon!

It's in a drab looking shopping mall, but they're definitely going for some kind of vibe here. If anything, it seemed extremely hippie, but with a lot of things posted about witchcraft and African art. While Norfolk has a surprisingly large number of vegan restaurants this breakfast and lunch cafe wasn't open the last time I was here looking.I wasn't sold that I wanted a sweeter item, so I got a waffle with pesto, avocado, tempeh, and spinach I think. The spelt waffle they use was a little tough and soggy; it was okay but you wouldn't confuse it with your average waffle. There was a bit of tempeh in there that was hard to see.It seemed strange to me that they offered me food in a takeout container with a plastic fork and knife; it seems incongruent with the overall vibe of the place. And it was pretty pricey for just the waffle. I always try to support the vegan restaurants, but I wasn't sold that I'd take an average Joe here.

Stopped in just passing through from out of town and this spot was such a great find! I customized a waffle which was as delicious as it was beautiful and had a cold brew iced coffee. The cold brew was SO good with hints of cocoa. My fiancé got the Chuurley smoothie with a shot of espresso - Incredible! I could see this being such a great spot to study from or get some work done. The music was also on point and everyone was so nice. So glad we found this hidden gem!

Food was made to order and it was delicious. Not just vegan delicious (IYKYK), but overall delicious. I had to circle back to tell them personally. I live in Suffolk and made the drive based on hearsay. Definitely worth giving them a try. I'll definitely be back.
