We ordered food to go. I looked up the restaurant while I was waiting. Huge mistake!! There were several people inside dining, it looked nice. But I can't get past the health inspection going down!! Did it taste good? It was chicken parmigiana, breading had no flavor. It's just too hard to eat after seeing this. The husband had ravioli that was supposed to be filled with meat, it had cheese. I dared him to call since the reviews say you will get yelled at and told your wrong. We just threw away most of it.

Not sure why all the bad reviews. The service and food were both good. We hadn't eaten all day so we ordered onion rings for an appetizer. For dinner I had a cheeseburger and fries, husband had chopped sirloin, Mac and cheese and fries. We couldn't finish our meals nor the appetizer - the helpings were large. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us twice - refilling drinks. Restaurant was clean, bathrooms were clean. We almost missed out on the location. - it didn't even pull up on our Yelp. Glad we spotted it!

Owner is the rude and unprofessionalFood is usually good but the owner is rude and disrespectful to his customers and his emplooyees. Three Items where brought to the table under cooked, I asked to speak to the manager and when he did come to the table; I explained what was wrong he simply ask if I was done with my demands and walked away. when I went to pay the bill he called me an a__hole, I said he was the one being an a__hole at the table and his response was your a b___h just pay your bill. If I hadn't been there to stop him my son would have beat his a__.

Waited 20 minutes for Restaurant to open. Restaurant sign displays they serve: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. Biz hrs are 1030-1000. When I sat down I noticed menu states Lunch, Dinner. I asked if they served breakfast, waitress said, "NO, I'm sorry". I let her know their sign out front says they served Breakfast, she apologized and tried to sell me on lunch. As I looked for something to eat, a group of 5 came in and asked the worker up front if they served breakfast, she said, NO, I'm sorry. They walked out and so did I. I politely told the man behind the counter, "you need to update your sign, we both wanted breakfast". He didn't appear enthusiastic to my suggestion, but apologized. Too bad, breakfast is EASY! They lost money today as I had my heart set on breakfast and so did the family of 5.

We were seated quickly and the staff seemed friendly. Restaurant was clean and it was busy enough to make me feel comfortable it wasn't horrible. The menu had a ton of stuff on it, probably way too much for anything to be incredible. I got eggplant parm, which was a giant portion and the marinara was great. My husband got fried chicken and I was shocked they sent it out, the leg had no meat on it, it was the same size at the bottom as the top. He ordered mixed (dark and white) but it was that leg thing and 2 thighs. He said it tasted good though. Probably a good restaurant for a crowd because there's something for everyone on the menu, but the food was like eating at Golden Corral. Prices were great though!

Decent southern style cooking, typical southern dishes, affordable prices, and swift delivery (via Uber Eats).If you are in the Elizabeth City area for TDY/TAD or maybe just passing through, this place is not a bad choice.

My husband and I shared a meatloaf and a rib entree. They were both delicious. Ribs were fall off the bone tender, not too sticky sweet and the meat loaf is addictive. The sides (fried okra and sweet potato fries) were served hot, and both were some of the best I've had. City Grille has become our new favorite for reasonable prices, generous servings and really good food. The staff is always pleasant and the food comes out quickly. The atmosphere reminds me of a renovated Shoney's (clean, basic, nothing fancy) which is fine with us...especially if it keeps prices down. I don't do sugar, but the desserts look delicious! If I decide to cheat...I'm coming here!
