Cibus Chophouse

It was OK.I cannot recall the name of this restaurant, but I do remember my husband and I dined at this location last February, but it must have been under a new name. IDK, but we dined here with friends for NYE.I believe this spot is usually closed on Tuesdays, but opened the past two Tuesdays because of the holidays, I suppose.Nevertheless, I called about 5 days prior to Tuesday and secured a reservation for 6.We arrived at the time and were seated immediately.Our waitress, Alana (spelling) was attentive and super sweet.Overall, the guests were pleased with their meals. All except me :(I ordered the fish of the day, salmon over pasta.The salmon was severely under cooked. I returned it. They prepared the dish again, this time, scales were still on the bottom of my fish. Crazy :(I opted to not eat anything.So this night was a liquid dinner. I ordered a fresh margarita with my choice of tequila.Three margaritas later - it wasn't food, but the bartender was on point! And I was full of those drinks and a few celery stalks from my husband's wing app. I would definitely return and sit and bar. This explained why the bar was so packed all night. The drinks were bomb :)Parking, I only saw street parking. Not sure if other parking is available, but this was like our fifth time visiting this area of Hampton and parking has never been an issue.Check them out at your own risk.Have fun and enjoy life :)

The brunch buffet here was a pleasant surprise. I was thrilled to eat shrimp cocktail and crab legs! The service was immaculate, and don't forget to try out their drinks. I can't wait to go back.

Customer service terrible. Wouldn't know about the food waiting almost 2 hour never received the food we ordered. They are also racist. And tried to double charge for drinks and half they table never received theirs. Overall horrible experience. ​

I visited this place before it changed names and really enjoyed the food. The lamb chops were excellent, and the staff was friendly. I also liked the ambiance and decor. The only thing that bothered me was that, although the restaurant was empty when we arrived, the hostess still asked if we had a reservation, and we ended up having to sit outside. I'm not a fan of outdoor seating. I assume they were expecting a lot of reservations, but this could be off-putting to newcomers when the place appears empty. So, seating here is limited. That said, I would definitely come back--just with a reservation next time, because the food was fantastic.

Came here for a birthday party. Luckily they weren't busy we were a party of 10. The server was nice but was a little slow. Half of the table got burgers and they were HUGE and looked really good. We also got crispy shrimp as an app, beet and feta salad which was incredible but the soup was salty and not very good. I would definitely come back to try the burger!

Cibus Chophouse in Phoebus is upscale dining. All meals are cooked on a grill and fired to perfection. The menu selection is not wrong; several selections are served daily. Your server will offer you the specials of the day. When I went, they had wagi steak for $114 a plate, I believe. There is one t door seating in the back. The restaurant is slim, so there is bench seating and chair seating. Full bar available with a variety of drinks. I recommend the smoked Ole Fashion; you can thank me later. Service is top tier. They check on you, give recommendations and house favorites, and tell you the day's special. I enjoyed this place. Great for date night but probably not the best for groups over 10. Call ahead if you have a large group. Speaking of calling ahead, you can make reservations at the Open Table app. I hope you give them a try; we will. Happy Yelping!

The food was fire and the chef came out to meet my family and I. I will definitely come back to enjoy the other half of the menu. The staff doesn't play when it comes to hospitality and service and that I absolutely loved. The ambiance was very classy/ steakhouse yet whatever type of vibe you and your guest prefer. We did order quite a bit so take a look at my photos and enjoy and tell em that the girls from Cali sent you lol enjoy

Was super excited to try Cibus after the old Drexler's closed. I called last week and was told reservations were not required. So today while in Phoebus we walked in & were asked if we had a reservation. The restaurant had one table sat... & we were told that we couldn't do a walk in. I asked if I could make a reservation for later and the hostess completely blanked... so we just walked out. After taking a pic of the outside of the building the hostess came out and said we could have a seat. We decided to take our business elsewhere. Bummed is an understatement. Best of luck to Cibus.

I'm in the area on business and apparently I made the right decision when I came to the Cibus Chophouse. It was previously some place named Drexlers, well my friends, there are new Sheriffs in town. I am in love with this place. I walked in and immediately figured out that this was going to be a great experience. The restaurant is nestled in an adorable area. The interior is tastefully decorated. I sat at the bar and was assisted by a very attentive bartender named Troy. The grill area is right smack in the middle of the restaurant. I love love love watching a skilled chef at work. This place is CLEAN. I ordered a signature smoked ole fashion and I was not disappointed. In fact, I had 2! I ordered the spicy grilled chicken sandwich with a side of fries. Can I just tell you that the chicken was absolutely perfect! What ever y'all are doing keep it up! If I lived closer I would be paying the rent here! Mmmmmsk™I wish I was here longer, y'all got it right! Thanks for a great experience!

This was a complex review for a party of 7 because we all had mixed opinions. The one thing we all agreed upon was the ribeye steak is overpriced. The ribeye is priced at $47, and no side dish is included. Very disappointing. For the price, I was expecting a bone in ribeye. The size was more consistent with breakfast boneless ribeye. The mac and cheese is not for me. I think it was a bread crumble with green onions on top for $9. Not my favorite. The prime rib sandwich was flavorful. The burgers were okay. So, to sum it up, this is not somewhere we would be running to return to, but I do say give it a try! Oh, the service was excellent. Very attentive and friendly.
