A very glamorous tree but this picture doesn't do it justice.

Bottom Line: A huge variety of Christmas ornaments arranged by theme but very few local or unique ornaments.Wow - the Christmas Mouse, located in the Scarborough Lane Shoppes, is a huge store full of Christmas ornaments and other holiday décor. There is something about a forest of heavily decorated fake trees that I find truly mesmerizing. They even had an entire tree dedicated to the unicorn theme and I really regret not getting a photo of it. The huge selection of ornaments is mostly organized by theme, with some exceptions like the Olde World Christmas ornaments which I recall being all together. A lot of the ornaments are from familiar brands and I wish they had more that was locally made in the Outer Banks. Overall, it was fun wondering around this large store but I didn't add anything to my collection on this visit. However, I will plan to visit the newly built Christmas Mouse location in Nags Head this summer. Nearly two years after their store sadly burned down they have reopened in a lovely looking building.

Stopped in on a Monday, off season no other shops open. They have such a great variety of ornaments everything you could think of in an ornament. The store clerk was busy setting up or changing out things at the time we arrived. We looked around and I found two ornaments and took them to the checkout. The woman was so unfriendly and rude, I should've put them back but felt committed. I will not be back and certainly won't bring my visiting family or friends to that particular store.

I love this place! It's so cute and they have a very large selection of Christmas ornaments and decor. This is where I get an outer banks Christmas ornament every year for our tree! It's a fun family tradition! Definitely recommend stopping in here.

I stand by my "complaint" as the only other reviewer after me put it. A year round Christmas store can only survive in a place like this. Where the tourists come. Other reviewer, yes I do agree with you, prices will be high because they think they can charge that much to tourists, but that doesn't mean the tourists have to buy. That aside, we were in here preppy for Christmas this year and looking for a "baby's first Christmas" ornament. Surprisingly it was hard to find one of these in here. You would think the opposite.Other holidays are represented in here as well as items that are great for a sports enthusiast. I believe the same lady that was in here the last time was in here again this time around. She is so attentive to the store and her customers. One thing to remember, if you do enter here and make your way through the whole store you can exit at two locations as to not have to walk back through the whole store again.

Love this store. It has EVERYTHING Christmas and not only that, but nautical Christmas stuff which is hard to come by up north. The staff are friendly and theres a lot to look at. Plenty of tree displays and cute ornaments. They have collections on just about everything;Disney, Beer/wine, dogs, beach! You name it.

If it's holiday-related, it's probably somewhere in this store. Year-round Christmas shops aren't really my thing, but I wandered in here while browsing in the area and actually ended up buying a gift for a family member. The store was clean and well-organized. The lady working the day we visited was very friendly. The themed tree displays are worth the visit even if you aren't planning to buy anything.I probably wouldn't come back unless I was searching for something specific, but it is a very nice shop. (Plus, they had Bing Crosby playing when I walked in the front door, and that'll win me over every time.)

Gosh, where to begin.... For years, i have walked pass this tiny, inconspicuous store, tucked sort of in the back of this aged and empty strip mall like collection of shops. And everytime i do, i wave my arms in the air and ask aloud, "How does this store stay open year round?!"For those unfamiliar with Christmas Mouse, its a 24/7 Christmas tree ornament hanging, garland sashaying, "Oh Holy Night" playing, baby jeezus in a manger displaying, precious moments twinkling, holiday kitchen dish towel selling, Christmas only store. It could be 103F outside, 93% humidity, and Christmas mouse is still decked to the nine's like its Christmas eve in Rockefeller Center. You may be into this sort of thing. That is not why I am giving it 1 star.I am giving this place one star for one main flaw (well two sort of)....It is pricey. These ornaments and knick knacks are pricey. A lot of them are tacky as hell too, so for me, an Xmas ornament lover, I was not impressed. A lot of the stuff I have actually seen at Cost Plus World Market, and for much much less dinero. But the real reason I give this place una estrella is because the only store in the entire Duck shopping complex that did NOT have a post Xmas markdown sale was Christmas Mouse! How is that possible? The only time of year any store should be clearancing out anything remotely holiday should be this store. I was in total shock when nothing was on sale the days following Christmas.I of course left the store annoyed, and only further confused as to how they stay open year round

What a really great store! Lots of items...and not just beach stuff. Great salesperson helped me find just what I needed (and then some)! Will definitely be back next time I am in the area!
