Chiri's just opened! We are so excited for another place to dine in Poquoson Virginia. Since they are still open, they are still working out any kinks that they have, hiring staff ect. But for just opening, they did a wonderful job. They were very attentive the entire time we were there. Our food was really good. My Daughter loved her fajitas. My husband raved about his food. My favorite was the empanadas with the green sauce. I could eat those all the time currently craving them at the moment. Our food came out pretty quick and it was nice and hot. The decor was awesome. We really enjoyed the windows. Seating was comfortable. We plan to return again soon. Keep up the good work, Chiri's!

I celebrated a friends birthday with a group on a Friday evening. The place can be a bit loud, as it's just a big open space. The restaurant does not provide chips and salsa, but our table ordered the queso and guacamole- both were fresh and delicious. The chips were seasoned and crisp. The margaritas have a great taste, however you get 3/4 ice and the glasses size is small (apparently they are working on getting jumbo glasses). I hope they work on their ratio of ice to liquid as $9.50 was high for what we got. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and it was top notch. I would get it again! Others at the table tried tacos, a Gordita and fajitas. For tacos and Gordita, you'll want more than one- maybe three tacos and two gorditas. Our group loved the food. We were ordering several drinks so we knew paying the bill would be some decoding, but unfortunately the manager (I presume) checked us out, not our server, who I believed was at least tracking the food. We spent about 30 mins moving from one ticket to four tickets for the table. We heard it was because the server didn't itemize, but we never saw him come back with his pad or attempt to help. The manager seemed pretty frustrated but also seemed to also be learning the pos. Seems to be a kink they will work out over time. I hope to go back and see some of the above worked out!

Take out order first day. Was greeted as soon as I walked in, service was very polite. Couple system issues taking my order, new business first open day so not a big deal. Pretty slow day, looked like 4 tables out of about 20 filled. 3 take out orders were on the bar when I walked in, another was filled during my wait.Ambiance is awesome. Music is there but not loud, walls are painted beautifully. TVs in corner playing ESPN. Chill, laid back vibe.Food took a little over 30 minutes to come out. Again, it's the first day, outside of a soft open, so I wasn't concerned with the wait. Food itself- pretty unsatisfactory. 2 ground beef tacos, 2 shredded chicken tacos, 3 carne asada tacos, side of guacamole and chips, side of pico de gallo and chips.Guac was extremely creamy, but there were whole chunks of avocado. If it was blended entirely I would understand the creamy texture from avocado fats, but it wasn't blended. Felt like tons of filler- sour cream maybe?Pico- Texture was solid, it looked and tasted fresh. Issue was no salt, lacked lime juice. Flavor just fell a little flat without seasoning.Beef and chicken tacos- missing flavor(and meats- almost no ground beef on the beef tacos?) My sister mentioned that the chicken had no flavor- while eating a beef taco. The meats were just very bland, and very sparse. The sear on the corn tortillas was nice, gave the tacos their only real flavor.Carne Asada- similar to the beef and chicken, little to no flavor on the meat itself, but here it was clearly from being significantly overcooked. Decent portion of meat here, unlike the ground beef. The price is fair, I paid 38$ before tip- but it feels steep given the food quality. Hope to see some improvements soon!

The waitress said my Gordita came with rice and beans. I was excited ! What I got was two under cooked corn masa silver dollar looking pancakes stuffed with a teaspoon of meat four beans and about a 1/4 teaspoon of rice. I amA professional in this industry with many many years of experience and I have never ever sent food back. This was the first time I have ever considered the option. This is a Latin kitchen. That seems to be inspired by Latin cuisine. I feel the concept is really good idea. The ambience of the establishment needs help. Honestly, the food just isn't that good. I'd rather eat noodles poached in hotdog water from Wawa. Try not to be so trendy. Latin food is very simple. It's not complex. making it complex only makes it taste really really really bad. Keep it simple rice beans, cheese meat tortilla not hard. Give people chips and salsa! Better yet fried plantains with honey butter. The waitress was this places only saving grace!

My husband got the Brandon burrito with steak which was fantastic. We got chips and guacamole to share. And I got the shrimp quesadilla that was super cheesy. Very family friendly atmosphere. My favorite was the pineapple margarita and I ate more of my husbands burrito than my quesadilla. We will be back!

The people are very nice and seem to be trying hard or this would probably be two stars. This is very American "Mexican" food. Half the dishes are smothered in a "cheese sauce" that is basically a flavorless melted white Velveeta. Some of the dishes would be okay but are in desperate need of a bit of salt, like the side of rice or the picadillo filling, so without the salt they're basically flavorless. All that being said, Virginia is not exactly known for their Mexican food and it could be worse. The margaritas were very tasty but overpriced at $17 for the regular size (price conveniently not listed on the menu). We live really nearby, but I highly doubt we'll go back unless it's for happy hour drinks (their happy hour is currently 2-5 M-F as far as we could tell).

My coworker and I have been coming here for lunch and love it. They recently expanded the dining room so it's large and can accommodate big parties.I've had multiple items off of the menu. My absolute FAVORITE so far has been the steak torta. The bread is like a fresh French bread and so delicious. The cheese they use for the torta is melted and amazing. I would say their torta is the best I've ever had. Their quesadillas are also delicious and a good size. The chicken empanadas are packed full. The rice and beans have a great flavor to them as well. I'm not sure what cheeses they use for their dishes, but it really elevates all of their food. We'll definitely keep coming back here, this is a great new restaurant!Updated with a picture and to say we also tried the crazy jalapeños and guacamole. Both were great! The jalapeños were huge and absolutely stuffed with cheese. The bacon was nice and crispy. My fiancé loved his fajitas!

Had the pleasure of getting steak nachos to go last Wednesday night. I advised the ladies who were taking my order at the bar that I have a food allergy and they went above and beyond to insure my food was safe. Jordan and Brittany were awesome and I will continue to eat there as often as I can. The nachos were great!!
