Great selection and very knowledgeable staff. I'm new to wine and I'm trying to learn more about it and the staff there is always helpful and willing to take the extra time, not only to make recommendations, but to teach as well. Prices vary from inexpensive good wine to very expensive hard to find collectors bottles! If you're looking for a wine and craft beer shop this is the place to start!!

As a craft beer lover, I was excited by the large selection of craft brews they offered in loose can style, so we could make our own #-pack.They also offered a tap bar station for pints on site or varying growler sizes to go-though I was dismayed there wasn't really anything on the board that 'tickled my fancy' to try-I stuck with making my own 6pack.Overall, their shelves were nicely labeled, separating the varying beers by styles (but not beer region-important to note because we wanted only local beer, so we had to carefully read where each beer we found appealing was from). But yay for IPAs having the largest section Admittedly after exploring the OBX craft beer scene, I discovered Chips was actually pretty over-priced compared to picking up to-go beer pre-made packs at Growlers-to-Go or Buffalo Jug- but they were the only option for a non-refrigerated make your own style, so c'est la vie.Check out was easy and they have a nice pleasant staff. Not a bad stop for bringing home local beer variety

A bottle shop I have yet to checkout in the Outer Banks, that's hard to believe. I have been giving all my business to one store which will change with this discovery. Chips is located at mile marker 6 in a small strip on the Sound side. The strip is small and signage difficult to view from the road at 50 mph. Look for the Front Porch Cafe which it connects. The lot is shared with several other businesses, so at peak times I can see an issue. However on a weekday morning no problem at all. The lot and walks were clear of debris. I entered the store at opening and was greeted by Laura. Keep in mind they do have seasonal hours, so there opening was one hour later than Yelp posted at 10 AM. The store is deceiving from the outside on size. On one side is the beer and wine. The other is over 50 types of olive oil and their tap room. The distribution of wine and beer appeared pretty even. They have a large refrigerated section of beer and that's where I spotted a gem. Long gone in Virginia Beach for months I spotted a dozen cans of Oskar Blues Ten FIDY Barrel Aged. Chips has a great selection that's divided up nicely by type. I did not pay the wine area any attention this trip. I walked over to the other side to look at their olive oil selection. An incredible fifty plus varieties blew me away. Ask the clerk to assist putting it in a bottle. Chips also has a store in Duck (under a different name) devoted to only olive oil. This is a big deal because they are the only ones doing it. Furthermore in my hometown of Virginia Beach I know of no one that has such a vast selection. The tap area has a bar with a few stools and six taps. As Laura served a customer she discussed they have special taps of some rare brews like Founders CBS which will go on in the Spring. Wine is also sold by the glass. The area is not too impressive as compared to say TRIO in Kitty Hawk. I did not see anything on their current line up that I was interested in, but willing to return. Checkout was smooth and Laura put me on their mailing list. Will absolutely return and work this shop into my rotation when in OBX.

It's very easy to miss the entrance to this store. It's also very hard to get back on the road since the cars are flying by. Seems like a decent selection of craft beers, a bit on the pricy side though. $16 for a six pack of Flying Dog IPA.

At the recommendation of a waitress at a craft beer restaurant in the Outer Banks I decided to take a look at this place. They have an incredibly huge selection of wines & beers. I was thrilled to find aisles of craft beer & proceeded to stock up on goodies to bring home to my beer loving husband. Prices were reasonable. If you go, it is in a strip mall & could easily be missed. Definitely recommend. Great shop, something for everyone including gifts.

Great beer selection, spent less time in the wine aisles but it looked pretty extensive also.Picked up some local stuff and was surprised to see some stuff from my neck of the woods.Apparently there were taps in the other section of the store and where you can have a cold one, unfortunately I didn't have time for that.

Stopped in for a couple cigars and a six pack. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got a pair of Dominican Cohibas and they were fresh. The Lucky Buddha beer was a great treat we enjoy whenever we come to the Outer Banks! I will be back!

This is a VERY well stocked market! They have wines, organized by origin, a wide champagne selection, and many craft beers to choose from. There are some chocolates and wine accessories. There's also a nice, small bar attached to the market with six beers on tap. If you're a wine drinker, there's a very cool wine machine, where you obtain a card, place it into the machine, place a wine glass under a spout, and choose from a taste, a half glass, or a full glass of wine. I was in this small bar for a happy hour and it was a nice small space to try wines and beers and gather with friends.Highly recommended to stock up on your drink needs in the OBX.

Best beer and wine place on the beach! I went in looking for a few new kinds of beer to give my husband but I don't know much about beer. Kent was a huge help and took his time explaining the difference between a couple of IPAs. When I went to check out I asked if they carried Annalisa Moscato which I can hardly ever find. Kent found me two bottles! Thank goodness we're locals, we will definitely be back!

I cannot thank Chip's Wine & Beer Market enough, specifically Kent and Page. I had ordered a gift basket as a closing gift for my clients and when I went to pick it up from another vendor today, they couldn't deliver. I went into Chip's last minute and asked if they could make a basket on the spot and they didn't even hesitate to say yes. Kent and Page helped me pick out the contents and craft an absolutely beautiful basket in a very short amount of time - I am beyond thankful. And my clients LOVED it. Thank you Kent and Page, you two truly made my and my clients days!!
