China Sun

This is the closest Chinese restaurant to my house so I go here often. I decided to try something different and not the usual. Glad I did because the beef and mushroom was amazing!! My new favorite for sure! Decent prices, convenient, and good food. This will continue to be my go to Chinese spot!

My family had just moved to Chesapeake, VA from Long Island New York. Although we had been told by many locals that good Chinese food is not easily found here, we decided to give China Sun a try because of Google reviews. This China Sun take out is located on Hanbury Rd. This establishment is primarily for take out orders. I must say we were pleasantly surprised when we opened our orders. For the price, we got a lot of food! So much, in fact, we had enough for lunch the next day for the three of us! More importantly, the food tasted amazing. We will definitely making frequent stops for amazing Chinese take out.

So many people recommend this place so I finally decided to check it out. I ordered when I arrived but most people seem to call in orders and give a number to the guy at the counter for their pickup. Inside, it's an efficient kitchen and they have everything down to a system. You can pick up your own utensils and condiments on your way out. I ordered the garlic chicken dinner combo that comes with an egg roll and fried rice. I also ordered the hot and sour soup and crab Rangoon. My overall take is the taste is "ok". I feel the dishes are all made to "not offend". So my garlic chicken was considered a spicy dish. But it really isn't. It's tasty though with a nice mix of vegetables. The egg roll had no taste, however. And the duck sauce packets on the way out have no taste as well, so they didn't help. The crab Rangoon were decent and definitely good with the sweet sauce that comes with it. The hot and sour soup was also sort of bland. It was slightly sour and slightly hot. But the taste just wasn't there for me and fell flat. So I give them 3 stars for decent but somewhat lacking in flavor on most of the dishes.

Great place I order food all the time, the only place that I have Chinese food. Great service and clean. I highly recommend this Chinese restaurant.

Located in the Hanbury Village shopping center, China Sun (CS) is found on the left side of the strip (if you're looking at it). Don't ask me what direction, you have Maps for that. We were coming back one night from somewhere and everyone in our party was starving. We were actually heading to Harris Teeter to find something to put together quickly to feed the hungry children, but then I saw CS. I thought, Chinese food, it's always usually quick! So we headed there instead.We walked in to a typical Chinese takeout set up. There are faded photos of their dishes on the wall and a large menu that is on the right wall. I felt it was hard to see because of the fridge in the way, but they have printed ones on the counter. The menu is extensive like in most Chinese take out places. There are combo meals and à la carte sizes.For our party of 9, we ordered: - Sesame chicken - Kung Pao chicken - I thought Kung Pao was a spicy dish, but this one wasn't.- Beef Broccoli- Orange chicken- House special Lo Mein- Lo mein (noodles only) - this was for the tiny human picky eaters in our group- white rice and fried rice Everything was made to order so it was hot and fresh. The portions were a good size. All in all, I would say everything was good from taste, timing to service. I'll go back next time I need a quick and easy dinner.- Military - As of my visit in June 2021, they offer a military discount with presentation of valid ID. Thank you, China Sun!Stay safe, Friends!

Ordered food from here for the first time today and I got to say I was not disappointed. I was a little skeptical when ordering since the price on the menu is so low, I was nervous quality would be poor, however We were very pleasantly surprised. We ordered various different things and all of them tasted delicious. The food was fresh and not overly salty which is very typical of Chinese food. The vegetables were fresh and everyone enjoyed their dish. For the price this place cannot be beat. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

I've loved this place for years but in the past year, the food has gone downhill. First time they messed up my order, I thought they were having a bad night but the poor quality and can't get the order right for several months. Guess I'll go elsewhere.

I'm from San Diego and I can't believe that this place is one of the best Chinese food I've ever had. My husband loves it as well! If we are craving Chinese food and it's on a Monday (restaurant is close) we will not eat or get Chinese food anywhere else, we will just choose another type of food. This is how much we love this place. Our usual orders:Orange chicken Fried and steamed dumplings Sweet and Sour pork Lo mein no veggies And sometimes we get general Taos

Too many onions in the shrimp fried rice and the lumpia was undercooked. Service was awesome!

First time, food and service were really good. Tasted better than our regular spot. Found our new place.
