China Spring Restaurant

I must day, I'm not entirely clear why some rate this little hole in the wall so low. I've visited this takeout place numerous times and have been satisfied pretty much 100% I think once I ordered Won Ton soup and the broth week. But it was the only time. Other orders have been tasty and served in an efficient manner. Since the COVID has struck, they've buttoned up quite tight and you are stopped just inside the door by a temporary foyer. I think at this juncture they should relax the service a little. But the food remains quite good and quick

I travel 25 minutes out of way to go to this Chinese restaurant. I bought the lunch platter. This place is always THE go to place for awesome chinese food. Today I am disappointed. I can literally count each piece of beef. At $10 a plate I expected a few MORE pieces of beef.

Greasy beyond belief.Lunch comes with rice and egg roll.Been here twice, guess that's my last time.Oh well.

I really don't understand why the reviews here are so low. The owners have always been kind and they have the best vegetarian dishes IMO in the area (I almost always get general Tso's bean curd.) I wouldn't mind more broccoli in the dinner plates but I don't see a reason to complain about it considering how much meat/tofu they give you. Always my go-to spot for Chinese.

Online menu and store menu are not the same. Pay $20 for hunan shrimp combo and you don't get a soup. I got a burnt up egg roll and little rice. I called and complained and the lady that runs the place just laughed at me and said we changed that menu a year ago. So I'm paying $20 for some rice, vegetables and shrimp and a burnt up egg roll. I would avoid going to this place. They are terrible. They will not get another dime out of me and I live 5 minutes from the place. I'll drive 35 minutes to tops China for now on and I urge you to do the same.

Three times I've had something up with my order from missing items to bad chicken to a big ol' hair wrapped around a piece of broccoli. The fried rice and egg rolls started to taste like what you get at the supermarket, too. Can't do it.

Hit or miss. This time we ordered the chicken with black pepper and were given overly fried balls of dough with little chicken to be seen. Very greasy, too. The beef on a stick was pretty good. We've tried other dishes and they were fairly good. Just won't be ordering the chicken with black pepper again.

I am not sure what I got. I ordered Chicken Lo mein and no noodles in it at all. Not like any lo mein I have had. I went to look on my receipt to see if maybe they charged me for the wrong dish, but all the writing is in chinease. Maybe I'm wrong to expect a receipt in English. The building was very hot and muggy - that should have been first clue.

Stopped by heading back north to DC from Gwynn Island. Delicious, very fast preparation, and solid pricing. Great stop.
